Blog Index & MayDay Update

I have a HTML site in the fashion niche. The footer on the home page has links to 5 articles, each one on a different page. I needed to add more articles and instead of cluttering the home page, I created an "articles" folder on the site and added an article link on the home page. This page had links to other new articles on the site. (this articles folder is not a sub-domain, just a regular directory).

After the recent Google Mayday Update, the articles page and all the articles in this folder got de-indexed. My main site is still indexed.

My question is, is it safe to take the articles from the articles folder and add them as links on the home page? I avoided this to prevent clutter, but if I can reuse that content and get it indexed, it is worth it. I have around 20 articles in that articles folder and paid $10 for each one.

I am concerned that Google may de-index the main site also if I move the content. Any Thoughts? Suggestions?

Thanks

Sam

This is top secret: Yes. Do it.

You should ditch the html and do pages in php. Makes updating so
simple. (php looks just the same to search engines as an html)

Make a side bar with links to articles. Only make a folder if it is
a very different aspect of your site.

Now you can create articles and make updating a breeze. Create the
article, add a link to side bar.

Keep the links much lower than 100. This has no SEO effect really, but
it's a mess to a visitor if they have 100 links to sift through.

If you insist upon html, you can use the same html template over and over,
but you would need to update each page with a new link. That's tedious.

It's called building an authority site.

However, you may have been de-indexed for other reasons. You seriously
need to take a look at the content.
