I haven't heard about this elsewhere. Perhaps you more experienced folks can help me and weigh in...

I have a site that has NOT be de-indexed, but appears to have been de-listed only for specific keywords.

Have you heard of google doing this? IE, you still rank well for keyword #1, but on keyword #2 they decide you did something naughty and they penalize you only on that keyword?

99.999% of people who think they have gotten penalized by google have only experienced some sort of google shuffle.

pages may be delisted for all sorts of reasons, not enough backlinks to the specific page for instance is a big one.

Same with me, and yes only recieved a penalty on the keywords I was targetting. The site was still indexed, other terms that ranked well, just for content were still there. Google knew what terms I was going after, and saw a problem, had a slow drop, then a drastic drop, then disappeared. It was not a dance.

yup - seeing it right now.

3 days ago my main keyword started slipping from page 1 to page 3, then page 4, then page 5 - I am currently on page 10. I am hoping it is a dance, but I would not bet on it...

I have heard of people losing positioning after building some more backlinks and then coming back stringer - how long does this happen in other's experience?

Just had this happen for a client.

The nice part is that we made a change on the homepage, and then it hit. Almost immediately (which was strange).

We put back the old page and will wait to see what happens...
