Hey there,

This may be a silly question - but how do ensure that certain pages of my site DON'T get indexed in any of the search engines. Many thanks warriors.

  You can add a noindex tag in the <head> section of the webpage(s) you DON'T want indexed.
  
  e.g.
  
  <html>
  <head>
  <meta name="robots" content="noindex" />
  <title>My Great Web Page</title>
  </head>
  
  [ 1 ] Thanks
  
  Signature

Robot.txt is the best (as mentioned), plus Google Webmaster Tools let's you tell Google which pages to omit from the Google listing. Seems like it can take Google as little as 24 hours to as much as several weeks to omit a page and remove an already cached listing.

It also helps to have a sitemap.xml page uploaded to Google's Webmaster Tools to let Google know which pages to look for rather than have them find them on their own.
