How does Google treat domains that were deleted but re-registered? Are they considered as new domains?

For example, i have recently registered some domains that were registered in 2005 and deleted in 2009. Are they new to Google?

They are supposed to be regarded as new by Google with their PageRank and backlinks reset but this is not always the case.

I have a few such domains that I have trouble in indexed which I suspect that they had been banned by Google before.

After you close a website, google or other search engines takes more than one month to delete your indexed pages from their database.

So if you reregister a new domain, you'd better use advance site command site:sample.com to check out what happened to this website.

JMO and correct me if I'm wrong, but The age will be reset to zero, but if it was banned it will remain banned unless you can contact Google and get it unbanned. And backlinks to the homepage remains (some people buy them for this reason), but the inner pages backlinks and PR will disappear eventually unless you duplicate the URL's before Google deletes the missing URL's. Which may or may not affect the PR of the homepage depending on the amount/PR of the deleted inner pages.

In many cases, Google is aware of site history, so it's not really like starting an entirely new site. According to some tests I did A while back, the big G might even be taking into consideration the entire site history when it comes to backlinking.

My experience has been that Google does not wipe the slate entirely clean after a domain has been deleted and registered again.

Penalized sites remain penalized. It can take over a year to get a site reindexed by Google even if it has new, legit, content. Reconsideration requests haven't really worked for me with this type of domain either.

Links sometimes get re-found and counted again so you might want to encourage Googlebot to find and revisit those old links.
