I completed my site so i went to this site Duplicate Content to see how my inpage seo was.

For those who do not know, this site tells you if you got duplicated content and if your links are well redirected to maximize SEO results.

I got an "error" in one on the fields that says: "Default Page Check: FAILED
You have not standardized your default pages meaning the following versions of your url return a 200/OK Header, which may cause duplicate content issues. The following extensions work:
http://www.site.com/index.php
http://www.site.com/"

The page index.php is redirected to to non www version of the home page. the www version of the home page is redirected to the non www version of the homepage. My english is not great, but if i understood right that warning is telling me that i did that wrong.

Am i wrong?

thanks in advance

  • Without your URL it is impossible to tell if you implemented the redirects correctly or not. There are several types of redirects. Yoou want to use 301 redirects to fix the URL canonicalization issues being desribed by the tool.

I think recently google has significantly reduced the effect of description meta tag on SEO, I find using the keyword on title and copy more effective than the description.On-page optimization refers to the method used by a search engine optimization consultants to make the most of the performance of a website In the search engines for targeted keywords related to the on-page content.

You are saying that with 3w extension is getting redirected to without 3w extension. It means that you have done opposite direction redirection. You need to set 301 redirect from non 3w to 3w if your website has been indexed with 3w.
