    Looks to me, based on YOUR forum sig here, like this is a rhetorical question that you already know the answer two and whose purpose was more to drop 6-7 more links in your sig than to get answers. But that's just an "educated" guess.

      Profile backlinks come from pages that dont have a PR. It is actually the home page that has some page rank.

      Question:

      Does this mean that a backlink from any page rank(home page ofcourse) has same effect, since the actual link comes from a page that has no PR...?

    I find the majority of forums are getting smarted and identifying the users who simply create an account, add the bio/sig links then never log in again.
    Maybe targeting forums that match the category of your business and logging in once in a while and posting a few 'decent' posts.
