I am in the process of trying to learn the in's and out's of getting my first niche site setup and had a domain question. I have found the niche product I want to promote and have multiple keywords that could work great in promoting my product. Is it okay to point multiple domains that are keyword rich and point them at the same content? Is it even possible to setup wordpress to handle this?

Thanks
Kevin

What gain is there to doing what you are doing?
You think taking any keyword rich domain, as you put it, pointing
it to a site, somehow matters? Google won't even know they exist.

The only way this would work is if you had domains that were developed,
had pages with PR, then 301'd them to one site.

    Get a grip on reality.

You are going to have to do work on all of your domains. That is, turn
them into sites. Pump them up. Then obliterate them. For what?

Your best bet is to do one site, and do it well. One site can handle
multiple keywords and long tail phrases quite easily.

What you are really proposing to do, is to skew search results somehow.
Won't work with just buying some magic domain and pointing it elsewhere.

I certainly don't want to imply that I am trying to be lazy and take the easy road here and I know building niche sites take work that I am ready to take on. I am in the process of learning a lot of this stuff and this is just an idea that came up while I was researching niche sites, so please be gentle.

My reasoning is that I found some pretty good keywords that have low competition for my niche. I could see how I could use these keywords in various articles within my site. I plan on using these keywords in the title of the article, within the text of the article to help the article ranking. I also figured that I would be able to do even better if I had a way to capitalize on some of the bigger keywords that seem to have low competition in my niche by grabbing a matching domaiin and pointing that at my site as well, but am concerned about the negative affect (if any) that could be caused by doing that.

Pretty hard advice. I thought that multiple sites pointing at the same content was called backlinks? ;-)

Sure you may not have the link juice but you can generate traffic to your "money site". IM Guru Jeff Johnson is a big proponent of "feeder sites". This can work in your strategy don't be discouraged.

The question of how many domains can you host in a multiple domain account will surely pop up in your mind. The answer varies as it depends on the size your websites, the niche and how much resources you have in your server. Having multiple domains can also optimize your search engine ranking because you can create a network of websites that link to one another using back links. With each domain hosted on its own Ip address, you can create back links from them and improve the search engine ranking. With this, you can bring in more visitors and more profit.
