Guys, its official. i suck at seo =(
I make money selling spam tools, etc. but my sites never get off =(
i have this white hat site form Emo kids, and with my coding its the best there is. i have like 500 daily visitors. i have many returning visitors, and i'm on 1 page under a few keywords. but i cant rank page 1 under "emo" =(
I'm on pages 5+
The sites that outrank me suck as hell =( i have no idea what to do

I have this other site, like 33 autoblogs on subdomains. the traffic comes from my twitter bots, and google. I get only 200 search engine entries per day, and 200 referral trafic per day =(

Also i have a wallpaper site, that sucks, cause it has really little vistors

And i have autoblogging amazon site. That has only 20 searches per day, but manages to get me sales (little though, like 5 sales a month) =(

I own, scrapebox, xrumer, am great at any kind of scripting.
Where am i going wrong?

Im seriousy desperate. i cant get my earnings higher than like 80 euro per month

    Two things come to mind.

    1. Lack of authority links.

    2. Incorrect keyword targeting.

      Hi Dracony,

bgmacaw was spoit on! According to the AdWords Keyword tool there aren't very many searches for the exact term "emo". Nearly all searches include multiple keywords like "emo poems" or "emo haicuts for girls". You need to target each of these individual keyword phrases if you want to garner targeted traffic.

Being in the 5th page of the search result emo would really give only few visitors. Study your competitors, look for their links by using the yahoo search and build links to those pages. Also look at the domain age of their sites. The older the age of the site the harder to beat it.

      Hi dracony,

You are getting some great advice here.

Work on some of the related keywords that have less competion first by writing articles or posts on your website, and then get those backlinked.

500 visitors a day is petty good, how are you monetizing the EMO site?

Try some different affiliates to see what sticks with your visitors.

Here are two things that I am working on that might help.

1.) Actually write some helpful content that people will want to come back to, or even link to. Go to forums in your niche and find out what the biggest or most popular questions or problems are right now. You will actually need to research and find out the Answers.

2.) Add some value of some kind that you do not see on other sites like the 20 most popular list, a free ebook on How to EMO or whatever. Even have a ask me any question area of the website and let your visitors ask and answer the questions.

The first thing you need to do is: Stop f*cking whining! What are you doing man? Are you like 12 years old - I'm about to PUKE! All those sad smileys? Pull yourself together!

      Anyway!!

How many backlink does your site have? I mean the page you wan't to get ranked for the term "emo"?

I'm showing you #1 for 'emo forum'. I did find your pages loading slightly slow which is something to consider although a chat and music player are probably the biggest contributing factors to this. I also found it hard to read and the ads didn't really mesh to well with the theme. As I mentioned, stronger links would be a big help along with stronger keyword targeting (although this is harder to do with a forum). As for conversion, chats and forums tend to convert poorly so you're not doing too bad considering. With this site and audience, I predict it will be difficult to do much better.

Your autoblogs are OK but don't expect much out of them without stronger link building and/or something other than purely scrapped content.

When I look at the numbers/backlinks, to be honest i'm not too shocked. Rankings in Google aren't determined by who has the prettier or "nicer" site.

You are at #33 for me. I didn't check the page 2 and page 3 listings, but all of the page 1 listings either are (1) >1000 backlinks to the given page (some quite large numbers), (2) have at least a few hundred backlinks but are pages on authority domains with massive numbers of backlinks to the domain as a whole (e.g., Wikipedia), or (3) the exact keyword is the domain name (i.e., emo.com).

Yahoo is giving me 771 links to the root domain for your forum (and 2140 for the domain). I also ran your site through SEO Spyglass (pulling data from Yahoo, Google, Altavista, Exalead and AlltheWeb), and it is showing only 430 currently active do-follow backlinks, and ony 81 current backlinks with the anchor text "Emo."

Based on that, it seems to me that your site does not compare favorably to the top 10 listings for "emo" and doesn't deserve to be on page 1 of Google for "emo" (based upon Google's ranking algo) until you ramp up the backlinking quite a bit. You are up against some fairly competitive sites when it comes to backlinks and your site needs to beef up its numbers (particularly with the anchor text "Emo") quite a bit if it wants to compete.

Anyone else see the humor in this thread? getting all down for not being able to rank for the keyword "EMO" haha

This thread tells you everything you need about how to rank your site. It can be another three years and your site will still rank in the same positions if you do not use that time to educate yourself on effective SEO...

and more importantly apply the knowledge and get down to work!

Build backlinks on trusted pages with targeted anchor text - and lots of em.

        Shocker I know

It's like saying to a guy trying to rank a direct response sales page "add more quality content" LOL

Links make the web go round ppl... so don't wait for them to come to you, go and get em yourself.

You can quote me on that by the way lol

You might want to give some more thought to converting your existing traffic. After all in a forum people talk about problems and you can even ask them what problems they have then offer them solutions. You should be able to build a mailing list off of 500 a day too. Then you could hire a professional SEO consultant to give your site an in depth audit. That way you could develop a specific plan in your niche.

The keyword emo probably has much less value than many of the 2 and 3 word related terms that would more closely describe some problem people are seeking a solution for.

SEO can be boiled down to targeting the right keywords, having pages that the SE's will recognize those KWs for, and having enough links that are indexed.

The biggest problem with lower level links is many of them never get indexed. They can be induced to get indexed, but that is another story.

The whole question of how you have to have high quality relevant links to rank well remains just that, a question. I see some sites rank well by simply having a heck of a lot of links, though I think some high quality type links is important.

If there is a percentage on the works you would like to do, how many will you spend for each?

90% content 10% links? 50% content 50% links? or anything else?
