How much to charge for a text link

I was contacted recently from a company wanting to place a text ad on my website (one or two lines) for six months, and they are wondering how much I charge. I have never dealt with this issue before, so I don't know how much to ask for...I was hoping I could get some advice from everyone here.

A little about my website:

About 10000 visits per month (around 7000 unique)
150,000 page views per month (an average of 15 per visit)
Website has a forum (I would only assume the ad would be on there as well)
PR 3

Any advice as to a $ amount I should ask for? I have NO clue what the going rate is. I don't want to sell myself short, and I don't want to ask for too much and turn them off to the whole thing.

Ok. So I have a PR3 site that gets 5,500 visits a month and only about 2 page views per visit. I have a company that brokers ads for me and I get $3 a month per text and (they get $3 as well.) So the total is $6 a month that the advertiser is charged.

I would use page views to figure this out for you, since you get 15 times as many page views as I do, I would do 6 x 15 and that = $90 a month.

Personally, I would try to establish a long term deal with them (always nice to have consistent money) and give them 6 months for $450 - that would be equal to one month free.

Worse thing they could do would be to comeback and counter.

If that figure scares you, maybe just go with $300 for the 6 months.

And since I was so helpful, why not give me a link for a few months for free... lol.
