Can you guys please give me any tips or software that you use to help you rank your YouTube videos for a medium competition keyword?

Are you trying to rank the videos on YouTube? Or, are you trying to rank the videos in the SERPs?

  I see a mixed bag of responses, mostly confusing ones (at least, confusing ones to me). When I read the OP's post I had in my mind exactly what Giles has asked below, and I saw it asked already I want to repeat this very question myself to the OP. Without understanding the intention of the question - the context of rank - an answer may not be meaningful.

The best way to do it is to make sure your video SEO is all there.

Try to add your keyword to your channel name - weightlossvideos

Before you upload the video, rename the raw file with your keyword. weightloss.wmv or weightloss.mp4

Put the keyword in your title. Weight Loss - How To Lose Weight Now

Tags - weight loss, lose weight, lose weight now

Description - This video is about weight loss and how to lose weight now.

Add the first comment to your comment section - "Hey guys, feel free to comment on my weight loss ideas video."

Create a "playlist" on your channel with your keyword phrase as the name.

Add your video as a Video Response to another channel's video on weight loss.

Backlinks to your video with keyword anchor text.

Announce your new video on Twitter and Facebook. Ask your followers and friends to take a look and comment on your video.

I think SEO strategies will still work for that Youtube video to rank. Please study how to do it. Listen also to the advise of the warriors.

Comments and opinions always have a great impact on video ranking. We all know that Google is a fan of the democratic process and reward things that others find useful. So it's good to focus more on this area.

It's better to look at creative, unique, relevant and keyword-oriented description from YouTube file to get a better ranking and click through rates.

As search engine optimization as (SEO) experts are ready to get a first page of Google results is more difficult than ever. Not only Google's search and indexing algorithms continue to evolve in complexity, but Google has given more real estate more and more of its search results for mixture of search results displays videos and images on top of the first page, and press down and sometimes offside traditional web results that otherwise would compete for the top spots.

  Get massive views. Use all methods to get them.
  
  There really is no more SEO to video.
  
  Backlink to your youtube channel to try and pump views and
  subscribers.
  
  The vast majority of video searchers do so on youtube.
  
  Video is not comparable to the term, SEO.

No.. seo works for videos. Optimized YouTube videos are really easier to rank for the top spots on Google for a keyword than a traditional article.

Use your most important keywords in the title and also make sure to get some solid back links to it and you will rank well fairly quickly..I did this and many of my videos rank in the top in google...

Get a bunch of backlinks, backlinkteam has a specific package just for video links, we use them for one of our sites and our youtube videos always get featured and lots of traffic.

  Backlinks to videos don't hold water. It does nothing for rank.
  
  Rank, either on google or youtube, is based soley on
  elements for relevance first, then views and ratings. That's it.
  
  There is really nothing else you can do.
  
  Ranking Video is not the same as ranking the page it's on.
  People are confusing the two.
  
  Building a backlink to a youtube video is useless except for click-thru
  traffic to view the video. Use them to get views, not count for rankings.
  
  Get your youtube channel to be very popular as well.

I advise you to buy a video spinner software. It is selling at only $15 or something here on wf. You can easily assign LSI Keywords to each and target the main keyword.
