Is Submit to Directory effective for linkbuilding today?

I am not sure for link building with submit to directory website is good for seo link building or not. Now I think Google change their algorithm to weight linking from web 2.0 properties more than buying link form free or paid directory.

Anyone agree with me or any ideas?

    I don't think google have made any major change for evaluating links from web2 sites.
    But backlinks from low pr or less traffic directories is of no use.

    It's really no different than any other link... Low PR will not yield anything really, so search around for high PR directories!

    I think this is no any problem if you submit your link in directories and get a back link form there because of as i think Google have not major change in there strategy for backlink and you get benefit form them.
