The same things that apply to google also apply to bing. It is very rare to find a site that ranks well on google for a keyphrase and then look on bing and not find them in a similar position.

Honestly, I don't think many people spend to much time trying to reverse engineer bings algo like they do with google. That would be like someone building a huge sign in front of their restaurant, but instead of facing it towards the highway, you face it towards the side street.

For the most part, ethical white hat SEO that works with google, will also work with bing.

I personally do not have a single website that is on the page 1 of google for their main keyword and not on bings 1st page for the same keyword.

One thing I know is they really like exact match domains, MSN seemed to love them more than bing, but bing still places them very high with very few links.

I agree with you on "the big sign towards the side street" story.. Google is so much bigger, but I just wanted to gain some early info on Bing.. They might be bigger in the future.. I've heard the have a lot more users in the States than in Europe..

I just checked our keywords on Bing and I actually see quite a difference compared to the Google rankings... 20 to 80 positions on some of our most targeted keywords..

I’m saying aim high, if you good enough in Google than you will rank high in bing also.

  • I just recently had my Domain pointed to a new site, everything on Google was lost but Bing at least picked up my URL when people type it in. I'm working on getting my rank back with google, I just set up my preferred site address which should redirect my previously indexed pages for google.
