how to check backlinks in google

Hi,

I have submitted my site in lots of classifieds site, directory submission, social bookmarking, and article submission sites.

but when i search "link:mysite" in google there not show only 1 back links.

how can i improve that. and how to improve in google.....

hop expert give me good suggetion

    Google randomizes the links to be shown when that search modifier is used.

    Yahoo will show all the backlinks you have.

    Just keep getting links from as many sources as possible, and you'll be just fine

    Try the same approach in the Yahoo search box, or using Yahoo's site explorer. link: in Google literally reveals nothing. And, with all due respect, directory submission doesn't bring much value in the way of links anyways.

    I would recommend using Google Webmaster tool to check all links coming to your website home page and internal pages. And when we try link:sitename.com, we just get a sample of links that we have for our website.

    I've used both the Google webmaster tools and command link:website but haven't been able to the get the accurate results. Is there any other way to check back links which can present the most accurate results....

    It takes sometime to get index in Google, but if its been a long time than you can check your webmaster account or you can check it in some other search engines.

    classifieds, directories, social bookmarking sites doesn't give much backlinks because search engine can't crawl on deep pages unless you ping each backlinks to get indexed by search engine spiders. I think forums and links on blogs are easy to get indexed and counted as backlinks.

    Look at your competitors. Put their web address into Alexa.com. Look at their "sites linking in" tab. Try and get backlinks from there.

    Check in your webmasters tools to see what sites it has really picked up.

    Hi hotposting,

    It doesn't mean that your backlinks are not there. It simply means your backlinks are nofollow or not yet indexed by Google. To do that, simply ping the backlinks you created using website like pingler.com. If that did not work, then the links are nofollow. This is actually a normal trait of links in the sites you cited (classifieds site, directory submission, social bookmarking, and article submission site).
