Adsense / Article directory question

I have thought about starting an Article Directory site and monetizing it with Adsense and other means.

I don't know how much Ezinearticles makes form the Adsense ads plastered all over their site.

I know Article Directories can bring a lot of traffic so this is why I have thought about starting one and putting Adsense ads on it. Any comments or suggestion?

    There are a number of people doing this right now. It sounds like a plan just ensure that your content is quality and the site optimised for the SE's

      Yea the script I found is based on WordPress and it is optimized for the SERP's I'm not sure if it would be better to have a directory for all categories or do a category specific directory.

      I guess my biggest concern is to be able to monitor the site to keep the quality high.
