Hi guys,

its me again looking for your help. I would like to get your view on Adsense ads placing and color using.

1 - I have read lots of guides on Adsense and the majority will recommend that Ads be blended into the page. Meaning that it actually looks like part of the content. There was only one guide that talked about making your Ads stand out. What is your take on that , your case studies and experience ?

2 - Ads placing is also talked to death but your opinion is valuable to me. Large rectangle before article , skyscraper in the sidebar makes sense. What about links are they any good. Heard that a person need to click on them and then click somewhere on the site that opens in order for Adsesne to pay you?

Thats it, I am looking forward to hearing from you and appreciate your time and effort in helping a noob .

I have never been a fan of blending ads and making them disappear.
I want them in your face.

I follow the setup on school-grants.org, with a minor mod.
    (see last thought)

But you have to test. And when you test you have to be patient.
You cannot change stuff daily. Let it ride for at least 2 weeks.
That is, once you come to something you like the feel of. It may take
you a few tries to get one, but once you have settled, let it ride
for a while and see what happens.

I also like ads at the end or the bottom of articles. It gives the reader
a place to go next. This is actually a tip right from google.

Really when it comes to adsense placement it's a mixed bag. Although one thing that I know that is consistent is placing the ad units to where the eyes are naturally at when something loads.

That's to say place the ad unit at the top left corner of your post, after the heading but before the content. That appears to be the sweet spot, but of course having relevant ads helps tons.

So be sure to do your research, and find out what the people are actually paying for in adwords. I personally use spyfu.com to check out whether people are actually pay for the keyword before starting on anything.

I do the usual. I have the large rectangle above the fold. 160 skyscraper usually on the right. I also make the ad links "link blue" or red to grab attention. The rest of my links are an off black (dark gray) so as not to draw the eye away from the ad.

place ads above the fold or the top half of the page also check your traffic. However, there is a lot more than that for ad performance. Google doesn't work well, but works the best out of anyone else that I know of ( I could be wrong). Online advertising is still unfamiliar to everyone.

I used to give in to the urge.

If you have a very low CTR or non-related ads showing, you may get a crumb.
The ad links always seem to be better targeted, at least for me.

My experience is not much cash in relation to ad units. The problem with them is
that you are requiring people to do two positive things--click the link, then
click a resource. I have never clicked on an ad link, so I don't know what
one gets. But you are allowing someone to surf away without giving you
a cent. That's always bad. Same with search.

I would recommend that you use all 3 blocks, and make one image/text.

With more ads, the percentage rises that you will get a click, contrary to
popular belief. You may also get better targeted ads down the page, and
the highest paying may end up at the bottom.

But you still have to test and be patient.

we must place our adds into the middle of content and you will get clicks when people will get these adds as a part of site or content

It has always been recommendable to blend ads into the page. however, I've a different experience. Blending ads into page might increase your bounce rate, as it'll will take your visitors to other website without taking their permission.

In my point of view, you should try making your Ads stand out. create attractive blocks and recommend those ads with your content and position is very crucial in adsense. Google Analytics or other analytics tools can help in mapping that.

Site overlay, can tell you about the most viewed or clicked part of your page. Always put your ads under the head "Highly recommended, or recommended" or whatever you think is apt for your website.
