How to get 4,000+ pages indexed by google as quickly as possible?
Apart from:
Sitemap + Pinging?

Much appreciated

I am not an expert but to be accepted by Google you need to have relevance. So to be quickly in the first page of google for your niche you need to:

1.Focus on one keyword. You will need to focus the code and writing on your website on your best keyword.
2.You will need to have a website that have new info every day.(google like it)
3.Write article and submit them (always focus on that keyword)
4. Make blog.

That is what I am thinking about right now

There are so many ways to get indexed it's not funny. It all comes down to links though.

I have a link in my sig to blackhatdigest. Sounds like you need the 30 day guide posts in there. Teach you everything you need and there's no catch.

  This project is a bit particular in nature. It has keywords for which you can easily rank,
  names of small U.S cities and townships along with the State.
  
  It's 4000 pages which need to be indexed, I can't imagine any mainstream solution which can do that fairly quickly.

  It's all part of the puzzle mate. Did you actually read anything else over there? Skim through the first few days of the 30 day guide and some light bulbs will start going off. You need links - and links to all your pages. You can try and do that by concentrating soley on other peoples sites or you can just build your own network.............

Here are just a few ideas...

You will want to target specific KWs that point to each one of your pages...

Here are some techniques for creating quick and reliable backlinks that will get you indexed fast:

Articles
Posting or commenting on blogs (I use Comment Kahuna, its free to use)
RSS syndication and submitting to RSS directories
Social Bookmarking (sites like Digg, Stumbleupon, Propeller, etc)
Submitting to website directories
Social networks (Fackbook, Myspace, etc)
Videos (you can use Tubemogul.com to blast you videos to 10 - 15 video sharing sites... its free)
Forums
Google Groups
Etc

And if you don't have the time to do all this... just remember that you can outsource...

Try to make sure that you build more and more links through the methods others have listed above. This will hopefully mean your site is scanned more regularly and more of your pages are indexed. It is imperative to have a lot of internal links that actually work properly if you want to get all your pages indexed. You can use webmaster tools and submit sitemaps to track how many of your pages are indexed.

Get socialbot from Big Mike's WSO.
Spider your website. It should find all 4000 pages. Setup multiple profiles and bookmark the pages. They'd get indexed for sure.

Alternatively buy bookmarking demon and bookmark them. =)

Social bookmarking and videos are indexed fairly quickly. you may use Tubemogul and they will distribute to other sites and use blogs because blogs are crawled everyday....

Firstly Google do not likes you to submit your web pages directly........so it would be the best that you can submit articles to highly rankned sites, do some fourms posting just like in this website, submit your link to only those directory which are ranked high such like DMOZ, del.ic.ious and many more can help you get indexed in Google.........

Get as many links to your pages as you can, there's no other way toget so many pages indexed unless you own an authority site.

I just finished reading through the first few chapters of this very "telling" eBook called "SEO Lies, A Report about SEO Truths".

This guy Justin mentions a couple of different S/W apps that sounds like they might do exactly what you're looking to get done.

If you already have pages and want to index them, Firstly have a proper link structure, link structure is very important to make spider crawl pages. Secondly generate sitemap (I think this you already have done, but re-genrate if you don't have proper links structure). Then its time for getting some links, I prefer distributing pages into catagories so that you write articles and link catgories into them. Also keep updating your page to make spider crawl your page frequently.
