Is Alexa's "For Site Owners" worth it?

I've never really payed much attention to Alexa because I have been so busy trying to please Google in ranking, but I stumbled across the "For Site Owners" section on Alexa. It offers a few good services I'm interested in such as the "claiming site" and the other options. I'm always hesitant about added Meta Tags on my site, but the data they have is outdated and think it could be beneficial for my site. What do you think?

Alexa ranking can be useful if you are looking to monetize your site, i.e. through selling advertising space or similar. High levels of traffic, as recorded by Alexa, mean that the space on your site is worth more.

The figures presented by Alexa are limited though. If you don't proactively add the tracking code Alexa only counts traffic from visitors who have the Alexa toolbar installed. Given that the majority of people who do have this toolbar installed are "tech" type users, the system is perceived to be slightly skewed towards this niche i.e. it's easier for an SEO website to get a higher Alexa rank than a handbag website.

Having said all that, I don't see what harm it does to have the Alexa tracker installed. I have it installed on my sites and use the traffic rank as just one method of tracking how my site is performing.
