Alright, I just finished working on a 2-day project that took a grand total of 10 hours or so. And I am exhausted.

Most of my work was spent backlinking (creating backlinks, turning them into rss feeds, submitting the feeds and pinging them).

I feel satisfied though, and I look forward to whatever the results may bring.

So a word of caution to warriors: SEO is tedious and time consuming, unless you outsource it, or automate it. If you can't afford to do either, be prepared for a long, hard, workday.

    Yeah !! I too.

I think SEO is a slow process and there might be a gradual increase in the output when it is done correctly.

It is really tiring. In our case, our employees work 8-hours a day depending on the contract agreed upon by the company and the client. It is a tedious process and we know the toil that our employees are experiencing but we try hard to understand them and give the ample compensation they deserve.

If you are very tired to do it in your own, why not try to outsource everything?

But seo will be sweet if you get the result you wanted from it. 10 hours is not much for seo and promoting a website.

Hehe, I like doing some mindless SEO work from time to time. Writing sales content can be draining due to amount of focus required. Sticking on some music and clicking buttons for a while is a nice change.

dont mean to put you on a downer, but your need to gradually build links... think, what would be more natural, 2000 links in 10 hours or 5 links every day?

I hope your work pays off for you, but if you do get a rank, i gaurentee it will drop if you dont build naturally.

If you know what you are doing you can build a lot of links and then index them gradually which is a much easier way of doing things.

That is what you might think looks natural, but it's actually not. It's just not the way the web works.

If something gets a lot of attention it is not uncommon to get a huge number of links very quickly and then just as quickly as those links come through, they stop.

Think about sites that break a solid piece of news. They get 1000's of links immediately, and then as the news dies down, those links drop off.

What you think looks natural is not always what is natural.

But those news headlines spike to the top of the SERPs while the links are coming in and usually drop back down just as quickly as the links...

Ok. There are other examples out there.

The fact of the matter is that the way you think natural looks isn't always how natural happens.

There are other examples like Move Your Money
          http://ie6funeral.com/
          http://thereifixedit.com/

All of those sites are pr 6+ with thousands upon thousands of links all in a very short time. Kind of blows the whole natural thing out of the water.

Yes, SEO can be a very draining activity. I guess it is because it can take weeks or months to see any results for your work.

Once you get a pattern happening it can be OK, and once the results come your way you can be assured that you are doing it right.

I often tell people to focus on other things rather than just SEO. If you can outsource it, GREAT. If not, work on building new websites at the same time. It will save your sanity

Also you have to look at where the links are coming from. 1,000 high authroity sites link to you overnight and you will be getting great results that stay. Getting thousands of spammy links from non authority sites will have different effect.

From my experience getting links fast is not a problem. Getting lots of links and then those links getting deleted can cause some seriously negative effects. So if you are building links from places where there is a chance your link can get deleted then building at a slower rate is advisable. If you know those links are permananent and from quality sites then get them as fast as you can, you won't see any penalties, just quicker results.

  • I've been an SEO for about 5 years now and I know what you mean. It is tiring however also quite rewarding if you get it right. The trick is to learn to pace yourself. Don't work too hard of you'll just burn out. Take a rest every 2 hours so your eyes can relax a bit.

10 hours over 2 days, thats only 5 hours a day - less than an 8 hours shift flipping burgers.

    You need more stamina.
