Is building backlinks the best solution?

I know that some of us are hit with the 30 October issues where many of our sites are ranking out of the first page.

Now, instead of waiting for Google to 'admit indexing' mistake and fix the problems, what if we assume that this change is permanent?

If so, will continuing building of backlinks be a solution now?

    If you're content is of decent quality AND you've got a few backlinks. I don't see any reason why Google wouldn't want to index your content.

    As long as your site isn't too big and there aren't any indexation problems going on with the website, 99% Google should index your pages without much of a problem.

    I think backlinks are the best way to get a higher page rank for your site and more organic traffic.

    From what I heard the problems were fixed by now and if you are still not ranking its another issue.

    Unless you did something really shady there's no
    reason for Google to not want to index you.

    They are obsessed with indexing every content
    under the sun. Even if you built thousands and
    thousands of sketchy backlinks and they know
    about it, they'll just discount the backlinks and
    happily index your site.

    I still believe that building backlink has a very important role in ranking results and without backlinks, getting traffic will be so difficult.
