Adsense and images

I would like to know if Google allow placement of images
next to adsense blocks. Someone is doing this and gets
great results.

I thought the rule was no images directly next to google ads.

Could someone please clarify this point.

    It's not allowed and against the TOS because people presumed the images are related to the block ads and are being tricked into clicking them. You may argue that the images may well be unrelated but I don't think Google will bother or has ways to identify which images are more (or less) related. They could well take the easy approach to suspend the account. It's best to be safe than be sorry.

      Peter is right.
      Also, there is alot of outdated information on this topic.

      I read a an ebook about 3months ago that suggested putting images that subliminally pointed to your adsense ads, not arrows, but things like a guy spinning a basketball on one finger and the finger was pointed at the ads.
      Stuff like that...is also against TOS.
