Howdy everyone!

Been doing IM for a short while now. I currently have six sites up. Three of them rank well in Google (First page for at least one keyword). I get a decent amount of traffic that is targeted. Something like 100 unique a day.

But there is a problem: I don't convert. I made one sale and my adsense campaign has only made a dollar during the last week.

I believe that people start to get tired of ads, and that the products I promote don't sell because there actually is better alternatives for free.

I have so far spent something like 200$ on the sites. 30$ hosting, 100$ for various domains and 70$ on building links. On top of that I bought both articlebot and socialbot for 55$.

I get the traffic, but not the money. So I figured that I will keep working with the sites I have up now and add keywords with time to make them grow. But until then I believe I need some coaching.

So I am going to create a new site. I will mainly go for AdSense and I will share everything here on the forum, and hopefully get feedback constantly.

So, here is my goal:

Using Adsense I want to make a dollar a day with this site. I will work with one keyword in the beginning and once I have my dollar every day I will add more.

So, before I go researching new keywords I need to ask some questions.

- What niche? I understand that loans and such are great but I need at least some interest to write. Would games work?
- How many exact/phrase searches a month? I am only looking to make a dollar a day to begin with, so I will go for as low competition as possible.

Also, once I found my keyword I would need some advice on setting up the site. I will be using WordPress for this with the following plugins:
- All in one SEO
- Google XML sitemaps
- StatPress SEO
- Easy Privacy Policy
- Something I probably forgot...

But what theme to go with? I tried BlueSense but my conversion rate is really small.

I will be sharing everything here, link to site, keywords, stats and anything else that is related. I will have this site mainly to learn and by doing this it is easier to get helped.

So lets make a dollar a day.

Thanks in advance

Marcus

Add some pictures, use large text only adsense ad blocks, get rid of the sidebar imo it looks bad and sometimes people don't want blogs, especially if you are promoting products
The goal is to have the adsense ad block stick out and yell click me

also another good add on is quick contact

may favorite theme is inove, its free and you can disable sidebar

    Thanks for the replies.

Will take a look at the theme and plugin you mention.

    Anyone else have any ideas?

If you don't mind another opinion I would like to offer some suggestions.

In my opinion a major mistake that new marketers make is promoting IM products. While this is surely a profitable market for experienced folks I believe that promoting physical products is much more profitable for new marketers especially in the economy we are now experiencing. No matter how bad the economy people need stuff to get along. Appliances break. Car parts go bad. Acne breaks out. You get the point.

Amazon and Adsense are two of the easiest and quickest affiliate products to start with. I know lots of folks complain about the low commissions that Amazon pays but would you not be better off receiving low commissions compared to receiving traffic that is not converting and so not receiving any commissions.

You mention you will pick one keyword and strat with that. A major mistake. You should always choose at least 5 to 10 good related keywords. When you set your site up write one article for your main keyword and then at least four more pages or posts each for one of your additional keyword articles. This gives you five chances to get search engine traffic.

Place all 5 articles on your site and then for the next 5 days submit one of these 5 articles to ezinearticles. Once the article is approved at ezine submit the same article to goarticles, articlebase and article dashboard. It is not necessary to change the articles before submitting them to all those directories.

Now I know because of this post we will now receive many different opinions about duplicate content, how much you should change your articles, how many keywords, what affiliate programs you should promote. Many of these opinions will be valid but they may also cause you to lose focus trying to figure out which method is best.

What I have described has worked well for me. All I am suggesting is try one site this way and follow through. I believe you will find the site will get indexed quickly and you should find the traffic converting. There is much more you can do to enhance these sites but this will get you started on a profitable course without spending any more money on anything except a good domain.

I hope this helps. It works for me on many affiliate product domains. And if you feel you can't write, a little research on this forum will show you many methods to get you writing quickly.

I wish you well and remember the only way you can fail is to give up.
