    Is that a question or a statement. The title suggest its a question but the content seems to say its a statement which we all know... you get backlinks form ping.fm and when you ping but do they last...? that is the question... most suggest it wont take for long..must be consistent

    Pinging is a service which does the hard work for you. It notify all the major blog directories in one go so that everyone knows about your latest blogs. It saves you the time of having to do each one manually!     Pinging does not help you get huge backlink power but alerts search engines that you have new stuff on your website/blog. Pinging is fast and easy for indexing but when you want real backlink power to rank high with some major keywords then you definitely need backlinks!

    Like Raul991 said, pinging help you get backlinks indexed. Links that aren't indexed are of course useless. Although, it frequently takes a lot more work than just pinging to get links indexed, but pinging definitely helps.

    I guess I'm kind of confused as to what you're saying/asking?! Are you talking about PINGING pinging URLs with Pingoat... or posting updates to social bookmarking/netowrking sites like Ping.fm...?

    If you ping your backlinks, that will help get them indexed faster - thus you get you backlinks faster (if at all). With Ping.fm, yes, you can create backlinks to your site - simple updates, blog posts, status updates, etc. It all depends on what accounts you set up through Ping.fm.

    Does this make any sense?!?

          Very nice, thanks . Just to clarify, are you talking about getting backlinks from already indexed high PR pages? Or, are you talking about getting links from already indexed high PR pages pointing to our backlinks to get them crawled and indexed faster?

    Pinging only tells search engines that your website/blog is updated and they can crawl and index new contents. But its not guaranteed that when you ping a website, Google indexes that. Maybe it does and maybe it doesn't. It relates to Google.
    Also as i know pinging is not relating to number of backlinks. Its only an alert for search engines to index new contents.
