Forum Backlinking Tip

Hi, I just wanted to share a small tip that I'm sure most already know but maybe have forgotten the importance of.

Forum Backlinking

We all know that backlinks from any site helps, even if it is just a little. Posting here or at DigitalPoint with a anchor text sig saying "bubble bath colors" helps you but you're not getting the FULL potential of the backlink. If you want the luxury of backlinks every time you post in a forum, make it relevant to your niche.

If you're building or marketing a video game strategy guide site, then go make an account at EA Forums or EuroGamer. Niche related forums are easy to find, just type your niche category into google and add the word forum. Not only will you get a little boost in link juice from it being niche related but you also run the high percentage of getting quality clicks from the other forum readers.

On my iPhone, I have a folder with shortcuts to 3 different niche-related forums that I post at. Any small downtime I have during the day whether it's waiting in line at the post office or a commercial break during a tv show, I whip out my phone and create a nice backlink for whichever website I'm promoting at the time.

Doing this will:
1) Greatly reduce the chance of another internet marketer jacking your niche keyword
2) Get you great backlinks
3) Get Quality Traffic which will greatly increase your chances of selling your product or getting adsense clicks.

I would also suggest adding all the pages (URLs) that contain your post (backlink) to an RSS feed and blast it out to RSS Directories. You could also always ping and/or meta index your posts.

Just taking that extra step to ENSURE that the Search Engines give you credit for the backlinks you worked so hard to create! :p

Excellent point. Sometimes I think a lot of people focus so hard on searching for some instant gratification SEO tactic that they forget about the tried and true methods.

LOL when it comes to SEO there really is no such thing as instant gratification. Slow and steady always wins the race, at least it seems to be like in all of my link building.

You can post links right in the middle of a post and some people won't even see them!

They're just like every other website out there. Some are dofollow and some are not. The whole lesson is to lean more towards forums in your niche.

No one ever said it was HARD. Some keywords just require more work to get ranked higher up in the SERPS. It's the tedious/redundant things that get you results. Like a fine tuned machine that's only job is to bolt lug nuts on a factory line... It's pretty simple but pretty important!

      What a metaphor! Lol!
