When i have found what keywords i want to use and some that i think will be easy to achieve a high google page rank if i write articles about, is it just a matter of having those keywords in my website.

What i am asking i guess is that i will obviously have multiple key words that i use on my blog, but i am really wanting to focus on one in specific.

Do all of my backlinks help this one set of keywords on my page?

I am planning on writing 10-20 posts with the same keywords in them.

will all my other backlinks help google find my site for these keywords?

I am not getting out what i want to say somehow i am failing at coming up with the right way to say this
#keywords

Writing 10-20 posts with the same keywords is not a good idea.. Go with "One Page, One Keword"..

so i only want 1 page with my keyword in it, and with lots of backlinks google will rank me for that set of keywords regardless of what else is on my site...

let me know if i am wrong, i just hope to not have to do a lot of work over from making some dumb mistakes

Yes, if your keyword is 'german sheperd training' then write an article about it and put it in a page and link to it..

If your another keyword is 'chihuhua training' then write a different article about it and put in a different page...

It doesnt matter what other pages in your site have..just like wikipedia..

In wikipedia you have articles on all topics..but still the pages inside it rank #1 for their respective keywords.

Man it is really hard to understand what you are talking about! However, assuming that you want to achieve keyword ranking to your site and want to know which method would for your, I want to give you some information in that aspect.

Your web-page or website can rank for a keyword if it have the most relevant content and links pointing your site. Links with target keywords in the anchor text can benefit more in search rankings. So you want to follow various SEO/link building methods to achieve them

With a fairly small website you would usually target one main keyword on each page, but you can make this even more effective by adding related keywords as well (LSI based keywords).

For a much larger website you can still target specific keywords but you should also get traffic for lots of search terms that you don't directly target if you set up your content correctly.
