Google backlinks vs yahoo backlinks

Hi there,

Google (thisa is my opinion) check the PR of the domain and the site. In most cases the site of your backlink source ( lets say an ezine article ) starts of with PR0. Yes it is 0 and this is a PR0 backlink but it comes from a powerfull source, which Google thinks highly off and visits every single day. Your articles will rank higher in the serps and they will get PR boosts more frequently.

I have made many eztine articles and didnt touch them for 6 months. When I checked them after 6 months most were PR2-3 some even PR5.

There is a difference between google and yahoo backlinks but its not that huge in my opinion. It is a shame that Google doesnt have a more precise backlink tool like the Yahoo Site Explorer.

Yes I have a same question, I still didn`t understand about the difference Google backlink vs yahoo backlink... there is more easy to get backlink from yahoo, but from google its quite difficult for me, maybe others warriorforum member can describe clearly about this

Google is usually pretty good about finding MOST (or some) of your backlinks... You're only going to see the backlinks Google has for you in your Webmaster Tools... I also think Google is more selective then Yahoo! and it just takes them longer to update!

The reason of difference is clear. Google and Yahoo index different pages and maybe one page is indexed by Google but not by Yahoo. So its clear that Google shows it as backlink but Yahoo doesn't or reverse. And for calculating pagerank, every backlink from high pagerank dofollow page can help you if that page has a few number of external links.

Nothing like that - unless you meant that you like the backlinks that Google shows to be better.

Just like Google uses toolbar PR as a publicly available data but uses many other factors to rank a page, similarly it uses some of the links as "publicly available" (you know what I mean in this case) links but probably (my guess) many other links to determine the total incoming backlink juice of a page.

If you talking about Yahoo! Site Explorer vs the Google link: operator, then the difference is huge as Google choose to only show a small random sample of all the links they know about.

We do not really know. It is assumed that Google counts all links that they index; it just they choose to show only a small random sample in the link: operator sample.

I agree. Anyway, I think the only difference between google and yahoo backlinks is that they are useful to your google and yahoo rankings.

About the second question, the indexed backlinks surely have more importance. Google surely will not give importance to a backlink that it wasn't spidered and indexed.
