Can you explain SEO step by step?

I hate to be a jerk here, but if you want to learn SEO, you're not going to have anyone lay it out for you on a silver platter. Well, scratch that. You have hundreds of people who would love to lay it out for you on a silver platter. At a price.

Not sure how much detail you can get in one post, but I'll try to give some steps that I've used.

- First of all, Use Wordpress. It's really good for SEO and makes a lot of stuff significantly easier.
- Install an SEO plugin (like all in one seo). What that does is make it so that the title of your posts appear first, which gives google better info about what your post is about. It also allows you to specify the description and keywords you want for each post.
- Set permalinks to show the post name in the url. Once again, that gives Google more info as to what is on your site and in your individual posts.
- Get quality backlinks with the keywords you are trying to target.

The key is, you want to provide Google with as much info as possible about what your site and pages are about, and you want to show them that other important sites think that your site is relevant and useful.

Now, I don't want to make it seem like those steps make you an SEO-god or anything like that, but those general steps put you in the right direction. There's SO MUCH to learn when it comes to SEO, but this is the best I think I can do in one short post

Also, when I say things like "Use Wordpress', in no way am I trying to say that it's the only way. However, it has worked for me, and it's what I recommend!
