For someone like me who is just becoming quite good with SEO, making money from it & also has big future plans through organic traffic from Google, this video worries me.

Is Bounce Rate a Google Ranking Factor? | WebProNews

Around the 6 min mark the guy on the video says "Ranking is deal"

When I heard this I honestly started to really become concerned about my future IM & SEO plans.

For those of you who rely on Google & SEO to make most of your money online, what do you think about this video?

Yah I was going to say that was a while ago, but sense I have noticed that many of my sites are ranking top serps with only good on site SEO applied with no backlinking involved.

Yeh, I know it's a couple of years old but what he's talking about is Googles future plans for search results.

He's talking about Google getting smarter & developing very personalized search results.

I don't know much about the guy & I'm still quite new to SEO so I don't really know what to make of what he's saying.

You think it's not worth worrying about?

The thing with more personalized results is that Google needs you to be logged in to identify who you are and to personalize the results (besides just using your IP location for say Places results).

So the thing is how is Google going to get you to login so that they know who you are...now the best way they can do this is through Android on mobile (and look at their market share) or through their Chrome OS program, so yeah, the video might be from 2008 but Google's working on ways to incorporate this and 2011 will be a big year for them to continue doing just that.
