What do you guys do to analysis a keyword to make sure you can rank for it?

All i do is use analytics to find a keyword with pretty high searches and low competition, then check allinurl, and regular and check backlinks for the 1st competitor and 2nd(and check Backlinks PR).

Is that bassically all you can do?
Because i found a keyword with 110k searches a month and ONLY 98 allinurl!
It's like no one tried to rank for it yet, person in the number 2 spot has 400 backlinks , which 399 of those are PR 0, and 1 PR 2. And person in the 1st doesn't have much more.

So is this a easy takeover? And I can buy a domain with keyword in it. The keyword is very easily monetized. So is this like a goldmine? or am i missing something?

What is it going to cost you to try it? It sounds pretty decent. I am no expert, but I would say that this has good possibilities, and for the price of a domain name and writing a few articles to populate the site, you could have a winner. It could very well be a dud, but until you test it with some content, you will never know. Based on the information you have given us, I would give it a try with the best articles I could put together.

    Good luck.

It wouldn't cost much at all, just an article writer for a couple of high quality articles (hard to find a good one), domain and hosting. Probably no more than 40/50 bucks.

And another question. How do people outrank authority sites like IMDB with thousands of HIGH PR backlinks, because this keyword has a authority domain(only 1 page not whole domain) with high PR Backlinks. But i don't know if the page has these backlinks because SEO spyglass checks the whole domain not just a page.

Hm it depends, if IMDB is ranked for a movie title or for an actor/actress then I think it would be pretty hard to outrank them.

I believe just by having the high traffic keyword in the domain name does not make the site appear in the 1st page. It depends on the authority of the site and how keywords are used in the webpage.

    Oh alright thanks guys.

But whats the difference from exact and broad? broadly it has 110,000. and i checked Exact it has 22 searches a month.. didn't think it could be that big of a jump.
