Facebook PPC Problem

Hi Guys, I've been trying some Facebok Ads with one of my clients, who is a commodities broker. We were offering a free webinar answering people's questions about commodities and forex.

The problem is the Ad is not getting any clicks at all, and Im not sure why. I thought maybe it was the headline, so I created another ad to test out a different headline.

Here is the targeting

  • who live in the United States
  • between the ages of 30 and 64 inclusive
  • who like commodities, commodity intraday calls, forex, forex online trading or make money
Any help you can give would be appreciated. This is a new area for me.

    You have to be very careful using Facebook ads, for me they reported a lot of clicks but my analytics said a completely different story. Some niches work very well on there some dont do anything, but like i say monitor it a lot yourself and ask customers if they came from Facebook

    Hmmm... these are just ideas. I have had a lot of success using Facebook Ads, but admittedly I have only promoted affiliate stuff. Here are my ideas.

    1. Your targeting investors/forex traders right? Why don't you change your image to a black graph chart with green and red stat bars? Are you targeting mostly men? Throw a good looking girl up there holding some cash...

    2. Change the headline. Maybe something like "Free Commodities Info" and then ask a question in the ad copy itself. Hell if you use the good looking girl with cash picture your ad copy could say "Are you confused about commodities? So was I... Find out all of your questions in my FREE webinar and stop struggling today."

    Of course all of these ideas might absolutely suck for your niche and your product but I figured I would lend an idea or two.

      GREAT advice.

      As someone who works in the trading niche, I can honestly tell you that traders go crazy over charts.

      And while the gold thing is cool, it looks more like one of those CASH 4 GOLD commercials than it does trading.

    I have a few thoughts for you:

    First of all, what was the reach after you entered your interests? Was it at least 100k?

    I don't know how many ads you created, but for me it take a ton of ads in a specific niche to actually learn what works and what does not. I suggest at least 50+ versions. Use different combos of pictures, headline and body. Also, keep in mind that the image almost always carries the most weight in terms of increasing your CTR.

    Basically throw a ton of rice at the wall and see what sticks. Once some rice is sticking you will have more data to base new ads on.

    It looks like you are targeting the right demographic but it might be small.

    How much was the "estimated reached audience" given by Facebook Ads?

    Make the best use of the picture which stands out most. It is small but this can really improve your click through rate and than it will lower your cost per click dramatically.
