Wordpress META Description question

Hi

I'm using wordpress for a site and the All In One SEO pack plugin. I have filled out the META description box with the description that I would like to appear under the title in the search results but, when i see my result it seems like its took the first few lines of the text in my second blog post.

How can I make sure that the META description appears in the search results rather than this excerpt of a blog post?

Thanks
Tim

    1) Use META descriptions unique to every page
    2) Wait for your page to get reindexed. This isn't an instantaneous process, you know.

I also have this issue, but I was told that it's simply because of the way Google works sometimes. It will sometimes show your META description, and other times it will not.

How long ago did you enter the META description? It sometimes takes a few days, if not longer, for the pages to be crawled again and for the updated META descriptions to be put into place. Also, when you check the pages online, does the cached version show up? This will show the page as it was originally crawled and also let you know the page may have since changed. While it may currently be showing the version you do not want, once the pages are crawled again, the META description will be updated. Please make sure your META description is well written and applicable. Thank you.

Sometimes Google will show an extract from the article if it thinks the extract is more relevant to the searcher's term than the META description you've set up. If you go through Google Webmaster Tools it will explain that.

    Cheers,
