Novice Performance Report - How am I doing?

Hello,

First of all, I hope this is the right area to make this thread... I've been lurking here in the shadows for a few months now and I finally decided to join up.

Basically, the reason I'm making this post is because I'm pretty new in internet marketing and just wanted your opinion on how I'm doing and maybe a few tips.

I launched my first website (ever) right after Thanksgiving. I used a free trial of Market Samurai to find where I should start and decided on my keywords. The exact keyword that I chose has about 95,000 results and in this time period I've made it to rank 15 for exact and 19 for broad phrase. (I think this is pretty good for just starting out.) Now, however, I seem to be stuck and actually losing a couple rankings. I have slowed down on my work in the last couple weeks due to the holidays, so this could be affecting it. But I still have been doing some work so I don't see why I'm losing ranks.

So far, for back-linking I've been following a simplified version of the 40 day challenge, being careful not to spend any money. If you want more specifics on my back-linking strategies I'll explain better.

Anyway, how am I doing so far and do you have any tips? If you'd like to check it out it's: myanxietyremedieshq.com

P.S. sorry if that's confusing, I didn't realize how tired I was until I started writing this.

Getting that high rank is not easy so I could say you are doing good. Holiday traffic is low on majority of my websites but I'm pretty sure everything will be back to normal soon. Just continue doing the 40-day challenge and evaluate the result then... keep going and good luck.

Thanks I'll keep at it. It's really tempting to start a new project on the side, but someone told me once to not start a new one until I've at least made my money back...So that's what I'm trying to do.

Yea dont start a new project or you will never finish one! Your website only has 38 backlinks, so i really recommend you get an automated software to help to out with getting some more, that could easily pull you to the #1 results.

Also your adsense ads are a bit whack, i see that your site is about anxiety but your adsense ads are showing ads about timeshare attorneys, so in turn once you do get that #1 ranking you wont have a very high CTR so that needs to be dealt with.

Site looks cool dude, I like it. However here's what I'd do to spruce things up:

    1. Change the permalinks on WP to domain.com/post-name
    2. Post one quality article a day, 500 words or so
    3. Start getting back links to the keywords that are converting best for you (will happen over time and you need to track sales with the Clickbank sub ID's)
    4. Refine your site to make it more action focused, guiding people to what you want them to do, which is click on your affiliate links/banners and purchase the product you're promoting.

    Hope this helps!

First of all, thanks for all the great tips.

@ablife - wouldn't changing the permalinks mess up any backlinks to those posts? I'll look for information on it.

@Look4Vgames - I'm really trying not to spend too much money unless I have a really good chance of earning the money back. On that note, if I did what would you suggest for best quality for price? Also, how could I fix this adsense problem?

Besides that thanks for all the great tips. I'll start working on it now!
