Ugh! I have been building backlinks for 3 days, 4 to 6 hours a day. .edu backlinks, submitting to directories and social bookmarking. I just looked on both sites I am trying to boost in the SERPs and neither has ANY backlinks. None!

What the fig am I doing wrong here? I register on forums and put my url in my sig line and then make a relevant comment or post. I even linked from my personal one site to the other. I submitted the sites with accurate and keyword laden descriptions. Stumbleupon, digg, deli.cio.us, technorati, etc. I don't seem to be getting any results.

I am getting desperate. I have to have all of this down by February, or else I am going to miss out on a huge chunk of money. Help me, please!

I agree with faceblogger. 3 days is not going to help you much in trying to get rankings up with your backlinks and directory entries. What have you done so far with your site besides trying to get backlinks going? I know there is a waiting period for a lot of directories, and if some of these are human editors, you have to be patient. They have to manually look at your site to see if its worth indexing.

You have till feb? I think if you keep at it, you will have a satisfactory result by then.

Do you have a blogspot with your niche. If not start a new blogspot and place 3 content weekly with the link to your money site.

I believe maintaining a blogspot with the same niche will help you a lot in getting backlink and traffic too.

Be careful about building a lot of links in a short period of time especially if you are using the same anchor text over and over again. Also, most forums these days "nofollow" links so they will not pass page rank. That being said, you have to wait for natural rankings. Best to supplement your traffic with paid advertising if you are in a hurry.

I usually give myself at least 7 days to see if new links are being picked up in Yahoo Explorer. But it should really be longer than the 3 days, build some links back to your most valuable back links, that should get them indexed quicker also. Hard work, but it pays off eventually.

Hi, backlinks and SEO for a website usually takes time but to get faster backlinks why don't you search resources related to niche of your website.

Just build backlinks steadily and naturally every day...You will see result but surely not within just a few days especially when the competition is fierce. It's not so good to build high amount of .edu links in short period of time as this looks unnatural to Search engines...

Just like what everyone else is saying......Results won't happen in a matter of days, but I'm sure by feb you'll be seeing some kind of result...keep at it and don't give up!

Too many backlinks in just a short period of time will only hurt your SERP... do it slowly but surely with quality links... good ranking is through quality links and not quantity..

So the backlinks won't even show on a backlink checker after 3 days. I would figure that after hours, or maybe a day that it would at least show "'xx' backlinks to your site".

I understand I won't be on the front page of google overnight, but I thought at least the backlinks would show when checked.

I thank you all for the input and trust that you guys know what you are talking about so I will be patient. It's just frustrating, especially when this is supposed to be my way out of a low wage job where I was threatened with physical harm by a customer last night.

    Thanks again guys.

If you can look at backlink booster or something like that, you can at least boost those profile links and that will give them a lift. Try pinging those links with pingler and see if that helps to get them found...

Try to build backlinks from ites that can give you direct traffic, like EzineArticles.

If you only build links from profiles you can get really desperate since they may last longer to appear and never provide direct traffic.

I always start with Article directories for that reason

Your desperation has no effect on how quickly backlinks will show up or how fast your site will move into a better position. None.

Trying to force results because you need them will lead to frustration only. It takes time for backlinks to show and have any effect on your site's ranking and there is no way around that "time" factor.

You added backlinks - now add content - articles - etc. By February the backlinks will help you if they are useful ones - so add backlinks at a slower pace and focus on other SEO methods.

Dear April: I don't want any trouble from you.
January was long, February was iffy, March was a freaking dumpster fire.
So sit down, be quiet, and don't touch anything.

Agreed that you need to give it some time to see results as Phoenyx and other users have rightly mentioned.

Just be patient and consistent with your efforts.

Don't give up the hard work just after a few days because you don't see results.

Keep doing the job and you will have god news soon.

Social bookmarking is dead, that's probably why, start building some decent, non-spammy backlinks and you'll see results, try promoting your website though article marketing, EZA links are pretty good for new websites.

Your simply building links the wrong way (IMO)
