Huge Google position change, why?

I've been working on a niche site which started ranking on the fifth page and steadily moved up to the third page where it has been bouncing around for the past one to two weeks. I checked the Google position today and it's on the 31st page! The only thing I did between yesterday and today was that I published an article. All the content is unique.

What might cause such a huge change in position? Here's the website (I'm not sure if it's a good idea to list it in the forums):

There are no affiliate links or monetization of any kind yet. Really confused.

Lots of posts today about big position changes. It looks like google just did another pagerank update. If you have a lot of unique content then you can expect things to settle down in a little while. But it looks like a lot of these micro niche sites got hit pretty hard.

I'm really glad I decided to start building my site out. I only lost a couple spots in position for my most-searched keyword, but all the extra content I've been adding lately more than made up for it, so my traffic is unaffected.

Most new sites bounce around in the rankings until Google decides where they fit in. Build some links and keep adding unique content.
