Well, here is the situation, I am running rank checker from seobook and put in my keywords and domain. It shows I am ranking in certain keywords on yahoo, but when I go to yahoo search it doesn't show me. Is this just a matter of them updating all their servers?

Updating a server has nothing to with SERPs. Maybe you mean cache or
    database, or rankings.

Yahoo is not bound by anything seobook says when you search or anyone else.
Besides, how could seobook "know" before yahoo let the public in?

Ranking can mean many things. Like ranking #500. What many people fail to realize
is that search results are dynamic. On an ongoing basis.

When real people do real searches in real time, well, anything goes.

Try a bunch of combinations of you keywords and see if you can get your site
to show. Check to see if it is indexed by yahoo first.

Well... I doubt they just make up numbers.. just like any rank checking software, it scans the serps...

So, that being said, is it just yahoo not updating each server? How many servers run the search, 100...500??
