Wordpress posts or pages?

What items should go where?

I'm having a hard time deciding what goes where. Should I restrict pages simply for opt-ins and use posts for the rest?

The main question comes in at organization. Should I use categorize to organize everything and only put one post per category, or should I use a page to host all the main posts?

I am asking for onsite SEO substantial answers.

Use posts for everything except stuff like privacy policy, tos, contact us, about us, ect you should use pages.

I use pages instead of posts for all my websites to make it look more like a website not a blog.

This is rather subjective, but here are the rules of thumb I follow...

If the content is to be static and non-changing, and will be featured throughout the life of the blog (like TOS, privacy policy, shipping instructions, thank you pages, etc), then pages obviously.

Though with some themes I use, you can ALSO use pages to display various *looks* into your blog posts. For example, on a recent site I finished, I added a PAGE that displayed only posts from a chef reviews and customer testimonials. This allowed me to place it in the page navigation, but use the blog posts.

Posts are for the ongoing, quickly created content you share with your readers.

So, Pages = Evergreen and required
Posts = Content that changes, is time sensitive or category specific.

I am learning to use my blog, too.

    Had a similar question, too.

My blog shows all my posts in the home page.

How can I set it up to show only one post and at the side a menu for the other posts?

    Wordpress blog:

    Thank you.

    Sincerely,

Wow... No offense. That's some crazy "tag" keyword stuffing LOL!

I believe you would set that under Settings/Reading and then Blog pages show at most ? posts. Unless I am missing something....

The side links to other post would be done under your Appearance / widgets section. You will find "recent posts" widget there. Add to your side bar. Hope his helps.

I think in settings/reading you can set it do display one post. Then use a widget or plugin to display the other posts in your sidebar however you like!

      Cheers
