I no longer allow Google to show their own ads on in my Adsense ads. I am pretty sure they were giving themselves penny clicks.

Problem is, if google is showing ads from their own, like google.com,
they are not finding better ones at the moment. Those are exactly like
PSA ads. Blocking google.com will not solve your problem. They'll just
pick something else for the same value: $0.00

Chances are, google is having trouble crawling for content, or something
      else is triggering these ads.

Google wants to make money. You think they will show a free ad instead
of getting cash? Not if they can help it. But they must protect paying customers
by placing paid ads on pages that they feel foot the bill. If they can't find any,
      you will get these ads.

Many other things can trigger these ads too.

I don't believe blocking google.com will stop the ads. There's a difference between
the url shown and the ad's real url. I think you have to block something else,
like googlesyndication.com or something, whichever is forwarding the clicks to
      a google program.
