I've got a keyword term that I am so frustrated with. I've made it all the way to slot #18 but I want to be on the first page at least. Here's what I've done so far.

* on page SEO
* paid to have 30,000 links blasted to the domain
* submitted some articles
* submitted a video article via tube mogul
* social bookmarked
* sent out scrapebox posts
* 2 hubs

The site is about 3 months old. What else can I do to get this thing to #1? The competition isn't even really that fierce. What will really put me over the top?:confused:

        you need a strong link building service, although you had 30,000 links blasted they were probably mostly profiles, consider going with blog comments they work so much better then profiles.

    My guess is that either:

    1- the quality of the links suck
    2- your site is too new

    As weird as it sounds, I have seen Google not rank new sites on the first page for a couple months, even though all other seo factors seemed to be better than those sites on the first page.

    Also, what about some of the other seo factors like how long your domain is registered for in advance?

    You just gotta keep working on the list of known things that improve ranking and be patient.

      domain name and keywords must be same also there must be the same words findable in the body of your text. It needs many backlinks too also I did this and I rank now from page 17 to page 1 third place.
      also the time is relevant too perhaps you must wait a bit make some changes in your website add a blog to the website where you get comments so google bot comes often sometimes so google sees there is a change and will re-index it
      also an other trick I did and it worked well I opened an google analytics account an let google analyze it.

      The sites where google analyze rank higher faster

    The problem is you are too excited to be on 1st page while your site is new. I would suggest that you must focus on your link building techniques. I believe that its not only the way you do the links but on how you make this links a quality backlinks.

      Yip, I would think that possibly the problem it the quality of back links. Remember that quality always beats quantity when it comes to this. You are better off having 100 PR 5 links than 10,000 PR0 links. Try and focus on getting some really good quality back links from blogs and social bookmark sites.

    Get links from other sites in the same niche. Or pay to have your link placed on a higher pr website in the same niche. Some say this is bad but It worked for me

    Check the seomoz link rating on it. I'm frustrated on one term, couldn't figure it out. I had 4x more links than them. After I mozed it, I figured out they had 4x as many different links for different IPs. That solved.

    Back to links.

    You need patience. It doesn't happen overnight, especially with garbage links. Your links may not have even been indexed yet!

    Give it time to age. In the meantime, post as many unique articles to keywords you can rank for. You can have visitors click on you site domain in the resource box. It will at least bring some targeted, free traffic to your website. Sometimes a well written, keyword optimized article will rank much quicker than a fairly new website....

    Your post made me remember when I first started. Its not that hard. I can assure you that you are doing the right thing but in a wrong way. I will advice you not to get even aggresive with bookmarking and article submitting because that might even make google send your website to sandbox and it might take between 6 wks to 8 months before you get out of there.
    Few strategies to use is these.
    1. Get a very unique article with great content rich with your targetted keyword.
    2. Submit the Article to somewhere like GoArticle or Ezine. (of course your link will be on the article page your submitting).
    3. Now turn the article ink you have submitted into a pump and start promoting it aggressively. ie social bookmark it, submit to directories, build backlink it for it using google pump.
    4. This article will turn into a traffic funnel for your website and you will forever be getting traffic from.
    Chances are that google will ban your site of you promote your website aggressively because its not been around for long, but for a site like ezine - its an authority.
    To be honest, these are just the final step on getting your website, there are still some few bits you will need to learn with regards to selecting the right keyword and knowing less competive keywords with good traffic.
    Take a look at my signinature, that product is awesome.
    I wish you all the best.
    Cheers!!

      AFI,

      you mentioned all of the off-page stuff you did....but what about on-page seo and content? do you only have 3-4 articles?

      fresh content rules since the implementation of caffeine...

      also how many pages do you have on the site? get 5 pages up minimum!

      I've been amazed at the number of sites missing the following:

      1. different meta-description per page
      2. different meta-keywords per page
      3. Different and keyword rich page titles
      4. Sitemap.xml file installed on root domain
      5. robots.txt installed on root domain
      6. add your site to webmaster tools and test to see if the sitemap and robots.txt are working

      has all of this been done?

      lastly, do up some more videos and upload to youtube and if you don't have a wordpress blog, then install one on a subdirectory of your primary domain - you might find the WP blog outranks the site!

    One of the best is to build good link popularity for a site to get to the top of the serp. It's also necessary to have good and unique content having good keywords relevant to the site in it.

    Dear AFI,
    I think there must be some problem in your site. If you have 30,000 links then your site must look like some giant type and must have to be great. you should check the link quality again. are they really Do follow? check that how many are present. you can also use SMM. i think it is also good.
    Wish you all the Best.

    This is what you need to do and then send me a PM if it doesn't work (you're doing good by the way).

    1. Find all of the first page competitors' backlinks and link your site to the ones that you can.

    2. Gather all your authority links (your 2 hubs and your high pr article directories). Also sign up to some high pr web 2.0 sites and put your articles there with a link back to your money site.

    3. Do another blast (profiles, blog comments, etc.) but blast the sites from #2 above instead of your money site.

    SN: It's important to get as many of these links indexed as possible.

    Like I said, you're already at #18 and if this doesn't get you at least to #10... pm me. I've gotten plenty of new sites onto the first page. Maybe not top 3 results but first page nonetheless.

    Its very difficult to say without knowing your domain...Anyways, check the back link anchor text from your competitors and grab their back link partners...This is one way to gain the top slots among other SEO strategies.

    I say this all the time...

    The only real secret I've found to getting ranked is consistently building links over time.

    Even if you're doing those blasts, it'll take more than 1 time to get ranked. You're already at page 2 after a few months....keep doing what you're doing, keep backlinking and eventually it will get there.

      If your browser is Firefox, you might want to get the SEOQuake add-on. It will let you see exactly how many inbound links you have, where they're from, and the quality of those links.

      If you have a lot of links of low "juice" value (low page rank, etc.), you can then focus on building higher-value links.
