An awful situation that could happen with websites is getting banned by search engines. You will necessitate following some rules if you want to prevent search engines to ban you. Avoid being part of title stacking. In the attempt to apply more keywords as well as securing an improved ranking, shun away from allocating further title tags to the pages. The content should not be copied in any manner from any source. Eventually, plagiarism could direct to detrimental influences on your rankings. You should not manipulate the search engine in any manner. Are you aware of other methods in order to avoid getting banned on search engines?

Good tips but building backlinks for the purpose of gaining rankings is considered manipulation and black hat.

Haha yea this. I rarely ever heard of anyone getting banned. You would have to do some serious blackhatting.

You can get 'banned from Google' by doing too many searches in a short space of time, especially 'keyword research' type ones like allinurl: etc. I was quite surprised when I got served a captcha and then blocked altogether for a short while, but it happens quite a lot now
As for a site getting 'banned', which is what you really meant - pshaw! What if I create a site called fishfishfish.com and just fill the pages and title tags with the words 'fish' and everyone thinks that's funny and links to my site for being so avant garde and the whole net is abuzz with the story. Will that get me 'banned' by the search engines?

Well what is considered manipulation then? Tags, titles? Having the right keyword density? Having anchored back links? Press releases in hope to get back links, traffic, and higher ranking?

Everything we do is to manipulate.
