How to maximize SEO for an image gallery?
- SEO |
I'm building a image gallery using software called Plogger (an example demo gallery can be found here: Plogger Demo Gallery). I was planning on making a celebrity image gallery and monetizing it using Image Space Media, which displays small ads at the bottom of each picture.
Let's say I'm making a Lady Gaga image gallery. Now, I was reading about SEO and image galleries, and it stressed the importance of properly naming each image file to something like "ladygaga1.jpg" instead of "1.jpg" because search engine spiders can't read whats displayed on the images themselves.
However, what should I write for the title and description of each photo? Each picture has space for you to write a short title and description. If I have a gallery with hundreds of pictures, I can't name all of them "Lady Gaga at concert" on each one, can I? None of the photos are particularly unique, just pictures of her doing poses and stuff. Couldn't that possibly lead the SEO spiders to think I have duplicate content?
So to summarize: If I have a celebrity photo gallery with hundreds of similar-looking pictures, whats the best way to write (or not write) titles and descriptions on them to maximize SEO?
