Hey Warriors,

after trying this and trying that, and comparing strategies
I now want to share with you some of the most crucial website optimization tips to analyze your competition + ranking well on
Sir Google, ready.

We all need guidelines and by putting together a concept we´ll
be less likely to make mistakes from the beginning on. The truth
is that in SEO (but also in other business models) the first steps
are the most important of all. Besides, making a mistake by the
keyword selection can be fatal and not paying enough attention
to your competition can also be time-killing for your projects.

All this can be learned, studied and analyzed ESPECIALLY by following
proven steps. I´ve to give here special thanks to Joseph Archibald who
is also a Warrior and producer of "Top 5 in Google in 40 days", because this
SEO book had the biggest influence for me so far, but also others have
been contributing, besides self-study.

Ready to rock? Ok, let´s begin the party

1) keyword selection: First of all, if you´re new to SEO I definitely recommend to choose less competitive keywords which usually get less searches per month, because they require less backlinking and Off Page SEO skills than the more competitive do.

I recommend using Google Keyword Tool which is for free and almost
perfect besides some exceptions. The paid versions have mostly free weekly webinars, e-mail videos, and support included which can be helpful.
If you want to create "money sites" - pick keywords that have something like 500-2000 searches per month ( global). If you´re more advanced going with more competitive like 5.000-50.000 monthly searches is good BUT requires a lot more work my friend.

2) Check competition. Look at the first page and check the competition for your keyword, and analyze their on page factors. Have they a lot of content on their page and well optimized for a keyword OR only videos, fotos and lots of HTML stuff which is NOT SO VALUABLE in Google´s eyes?
Do this from the first results to the 10th results.

You´ll see that by keywords that only get around a few hundred till maybe 2000 searches per month.. there´s less competition. Also look if somebody optimized for the keyword in the domain name and other on page factors. You can do this for any product and any niche, would it be winter coats, spiritual books or sport related stuff..

3) Go to Alexa.com and search for keywords and the first page dominating websites. Here it´s important to look for their rankings (the closer it gets to 1 the worst for us!). Sites between 100.000 - a few million of rankings are no problem if you´re new, but when they are in the top 5.000 for example, it can get tricky! You can also click on: get details for global visitors for the last couple of months, plus the keywords which the users typed into Google to find this specific website.

4) Download SEO Toolbar from SEObook.com which is for Morzilla Firefox. With this brilliant browser you can check the PR´s of a site. The higher the PR for a competitive site the worse for you. Because that means that this site won some serious trust from Google because of solid information, backlinking and trustworthy processes.. Besides it has many additional tools and you can learn a lot from this toolbar and also SEObook.

5) Get SEO Quake which is great to check the age of competitive websites. Again, the older a website is, and whether the website is ranked high on Google or not can be HUGE factor for your chance! For instance: If a website is like 8 years old and sitting on the first spot of Google, you´ll have a super tough time to outrank it, especially when we´re talking about a competitive keyword.

6) You can use instantdomainsearch.com to check whether your desired domain (which should normally be as close as to the keyword as possible). If you´re new you might want to consider going with exact matches because they´re at least a few times easier to rank, what I´ve experienced so far. Prefer keyword.com, keyword.net, keyword.org - If this is not available at some additional prefix or suffix like "keywordselection" or "selectkeyword".

7) Get a hosting account. I´m with dreamhost.com and pretty satisfied. Hostgator works also great!

These were just a few "website optimization tips" but they´re essential
for continues, solid and constant top rankings on Google.

If you´ve questions just post them below or send me a PM. Make sure to also post your thoughts if you have to add something!

Best wishes,

Gerald
