Hi, I am hoping you can tell me your thoughts on an issue I keep experiencing. I understand what the Google dance is...and that it could happen all the time...but is this problem really the Google dance?

ALL but one of my sites have had this problem so I am wondering if I am doing something wrong with SEO. Let's take one of my sites Toddler Boy Clothing Shop, which is several months old (created in July 2010). After dancing around, it landed in position 3-4 for the keywords toddler boy clothing. It is also on the front page for several other keywords. It stayed like that for about 3 weeks and was gone. It will come back for 1-2 days and leave again for WEEKS. It came back last week for about 4 days and has left again. It was gone the ENTIRE month of December also. It has done this for EVERY one of my websites for 5 or so months. They usually all disappear at the same time also.

When I mean *gone* I mean the homepage is no longer at a point where it gets searches. This has consistently happened to all my websites except one that is just a personal blog with no traffic really.

I am very frustrated because I end up making money for like a few days until it disappears again. Is this really a Google dance? It frustrates me so much that I don't see the point in me doing this stuff if my sites jump every week.
*Backlinking- I do my own manual backlinking to forums, articles, etc. I have not purchased backlinks either.
*I have not done anything black hat, that I am aware of, lol.
* I changed hosting providers recently thinking it would fix my problem because my websites would go down during the day several times a month. However, the change has not fixed it.
*I do have WP Robot on this site, but not ALL of my sites.
*I do add unique content. Some posts I have not added unique content to, but many does have unique content.
*I have changed the front page recently to have a table on the front page for my categories. However, for months I had a typical blog as my front page but my site still disappeared every few days.

Any ideas? I will check back later, thanks for any help!

Are you building back links? Just keep building, your thoughts are exactly right, it is the google dance.

I would take out the wprobot and flexibility theme links out.

I am doing manual backlinking to articles, forums, etc. I have not purchased any links. I didn't realize I have flexibility links, i need to go check! Thanks for letting me know.

When u mean take the WP Robot links out do u mean not use it at all? I have heard people suggest that before to other people and was wondering what exactly their view is on WP Robot links? Can it look bad?

Some of my sites that are bouncing do not have WP Robot.

You have a link to WP robot, definitely take that out anyway. IT is an ougoing link, no sure if you added nofollow to it, but still, the word robot, I will never use on a site. lol.

Oh, that link was automatically put there because I only purchased the Amazon version. Apparently if you purchase the more expensive packages that link is taken out. Yeah, I'm sure the robot word does not look good, lol.

You can dig around in the code to take it out, or if they have an agreement where you can't remove the link, you can at least make it not display.

If you start concentrating on getting targeted traffic from other
sources, such as blogs, squidoo, twitter, etc., you will eventually
solidify a more constant google position.

It just does not have much authority, and you are competing with
amazon, target, walmart, buy, overstock, etc.

The only content you have looks like posts about specific items. You need
to do more general posts and link to specific topics.

In other words, do more posts on footed pajamas, not Cars Lightning McQueen Footed.

    Another example:
Your size chart page should be full of content, when to use it, how to
use it, adjustments, buying for the future, etc., along with the chart.

Thank you, good points. Yeah I need to work on more written posts about general stuff than specifics. You're right, I am probably being knocked out by Target, etc.
