Hey warriors,

I have a simple question.

I have a blog set up on blogger.

My blog URL - myblog.blogspot.com is not indexed.. but:
my pages - myblog.blogspot.com/mymoneypage.html for example are indexed

My question is: when I build a backlink - do I put my blog URL that is not indexed or do I put my money page's URL which is indexed? Both the URLs lead to my money page but only the page itself is backlinked. I don't want to waste my time backlinking if it will have no effect.

My gut tells me to put the money page URL and not the blog URL. Am I right?

Thanks warriors! I really appreciate your help.

I found a jackpot of where to build free backlinks for anyone who read this thread. It's at:

Add URL.nu : Add your URL to free SEO friendly directories

It's free!

Ideally, you should have backlinks pointing to both your inner pages and your home page. So it should not be thought of as a one way or the other kind of scenario. Typically sites have more links pointing to their homepages so it might appear unnatural to have a few hundred links pointing your inner pages and 1 or 2 links pointing to your home page.

I'm sure in a few days or weeks at most, your home page will be indexed. Try bookmarking it in a few of the popular social bookmark sites.

Now, as for your money page, you definitely do want a lot of links pointing there, including your chosen anchor text but it's probably best practices to get some to home page as well. Try to think about developing a linking strategy that you can use on multiple websites. Whatever your strategy it should include links from a variety of sources, and to different pages on your site. Mix it up, and add a link to your site's rss feed. Link to some of the tag pages on your site if you have them. Vary your anchor text so that it is not always the same exact keyword. Leave links with no anchor text at all, just a basic http://

One of my strategies at the moment, is to use the wordpress automatic backlink plugin to get links going to my home page. It's automated and just takes me 30 seconds to setup a backlink to the homepage which will go out on a number of blogs. Then I go out and get links from comments, forums, social bookmarks etc for my inner pages. And it has been working well.

Yes, info.vilesilencer.com and web-directories.ws are a couple other good sources.

Build backlinks to both the home page and the inner pages. Focus on making the entire contents on the site useful. Your home url should be indexed, just give it time. Building links to the page will increase your chance of getting indexed. Build about 30-40 links per month to your site, spread across all the pages and you'll be golden.

Are you certain the main page is not indexed? Or do you just meant it is not ranked?

I cannot remember ever seeing one of my pages rank, but the main domain not being indexed. I suppose it is possible, but I'm thinking you just meant it is not ranked.
