New traffic...Am I doing something wrong?

According to google analytics, my new traffic is only around 29% where sites my size are averaging 66%. My avg time on site is 42 minutes, 27 pages views per day, and a bounce rate of 6%, so I get a lot of loyalty from my existing users, but should I be somehow shooting for 66% or better new users? Does this mean I have a lot of SEO work to do?

    6% bounce rate is wow.. anyway, agree that you need to promote your site to get more visitors.. more SEO efforts...

      Ugh...easier said than done though. I spend more time doing SEO work than website improvements. I am afraid to use any of the link services as this may look bad from google's perspective, but I know if I become the top site on the search engines for my niche, with the loyalty my site sees, it should do incredibly well.

      Is slow and steady growth better than using services to get a surge that may or may not hurt?
