Sorry to hear that, frustrating isn't it lol I must have about 100 backlinks waiting to be indexed, about 6 of them being .edu links. I just wanna start moving up the pages!

I'm hoping that for the pair of us it's just a case of Google being busy or somethign along those lines.

      All the best, Spope

your backlinks will be indexed at 2:15am GMT January 21st 2011...

I underatand your frustration but it's only been a week?! Google couldn't even tell you when they would be indexed and a week is barely anytime.

some of my links have taken 2 months to index, a lot still aren't indexed after 2 months...

just keep at it, the work will eventaully pay off,

Ok thanks for the response Robbeh. I'm not majorly fussed if it's just a matter of time I just wanted to be sure that they would eventually be indexed lol I'll continue my link building then and hope for the best

They'll count your backlinks when they next crawl (or newly index) the pages that contain them.

When that is, no-one can say, because the frequency with which Google's bots visit and crawl websites (and index any new pages they find within them) is dependent on many factors - and these vary considerably between sites.

Some sites seem to be crawled almost continuously, as new pages are nearly always indexed within minutes; others may only be crawled once every 1-2 weeks or so, so new pages take some time to be indexed.

Some sites have far more pages than Google is prepared to index at the moment, because they don't have enough overall backlinks to the domain, and are lacking in sufficient authority. Backlinks from new pages on these sites may take considerable time to be counted.

All you can really do is wait, unfortunately.

There's a number of tips and tricks out there to help Google crawl and index new pages. Simply bookmarking the link on social networks and pinging those pages (with pingler.com for example), or using services such as Backlink Booster or Linklicous help too.

Google was slow yesterday for some reason.

Normally when I create a new website I place a link on a PR6 edu blog that I have, ping the edu blog and within a half hour (sometimes less then 5 minutes) the new site is in the Google index.

However, nothing yesterday....no index love from Google.

This story does have a happy ending. This morning when I woke up, the site had been indexed...so all is good (just slower)...

If your backlinks come from good quality (according to Google) sites then only Google lists them... and better quality links take very less time to appear. I have seen Google pick up links for my site in less the 4 days.

Normally, it will take about 1-2 weeks to get the effect of your backlinks. However, if you can get backlinks from high traffic pages or sites, Google normally visits those sites very frequently.

Thanks for all the feedback anyone. The sites I've used are many article directories such as Ezine, I've used squidoo, hub pages, some forum posts too.

The only ones that have shown up at the moment are the forum posts.
Guess I just have to wait. I think I might Social bookmark my Ezine articles though to see if that speeds things up.

      Thanks again.

Take all the url's that have your backlinks and create an rss feed of them at hostmyrss.com. Then bookmark that rss feed.

I have heard it can take Google up to 3 months to index your backlinks. I wouldn't be to concerned about the time frame though. The links grow stronger and stronger as time goes on. For instance, a backlink it's strongest at about 3-4 month. Obviously, the longer it is there the better it will help you in terms of SEO.

Try to mix up your backlinking strategies though, to many of one kind might look a little odd in Googles eyes. Also, deeplink them to each page on your site.

What makes you think they haven't already been indexed? And how are you checking them?

Google is notorious for not showing all the backlinks to a site ... even the ones that have been indexed.

I just keep copying posts I've already made and pasting them on new threads that are basically asking the same d@mn question! Hopefully you find it semi-useful

Copy and past ALL the URLs that you've built backlinks on (articles, blog comments, whatever). You should turn this into habit. I have several .txt files saved and have more than 8k URLs in them. After a day of backlink building I will meta index, ping, and turn the URLs my backlinks are on into RSS Feeds and submit to a handful of aggregators.

I've had some pretty good luck with getting majority of my backlinks indexed this way. I think the Meta Indexing really helps. SEO Fast Indexer (available in the War Room (mentioned before)) is a great tool for doing this. I usually Meta Index to 500 sites for each URL... Someone's search engine bot is BOUND to stumble across these and re-crawl that site finding my backlink!!

Links 2 RSS - Convert a list of URLs to RSS feeds

I usually only add 75-100 links to a feed.

beside submitting your backlinks to RSS directory, if you have the time and patience you can also manually submit them to digg, stumbleupon, all the various bookmarking sites. This definitely helps increase the rate of indexation for your backlinks

1 week means nearly nothing when it comes to indexing and SERP improvements, especially with articles.

Did you count that 1 week since your articles got approved? i`m asking this because ezine for example needs up to 10 day to even approve your article not talking about indexation.

Give it a bit more time and try to keep your backlinks in a notepad or something to build an rss eventually and submit them if they still don`t get indexed.

      Hope i could help !
