I went from Zero to Hero with Google Sitelinks

I have been building my site for SEO for months now, and I guess it
has been a bit challenging to get Google to allow "sitelinks" on search results.

It has taken me months to figure this out.
Yes, i've been doing SEO since the internet started.
I have been marketing almost my entire life..

But... I couldn't get the sitelinks to show up for any of my sites,
no matter what I did or how much money I spent and just didn't
seem to gain enough authority for sitelinks to appear on results.

Then one morning, I woke up and found my results with
SIX working links showing up under my primary domain link.

That's one thing a lot of website owners want to know about... Right?
Do you want to know how to get your website incorporated with sitelinks?

What is site-links worth to your business? (long-run)(competition)(authority)

Do you think it's important for your sites or any sites to have sitelinks?

Just thought I'd share that with other members...

    nice one, i remember the training i did at theme zoom and they talked out how google like silo structure linking and if properly structure they will make links apear. Of course you must be at the top and have age and authority .

        If you search for domain.com, and the site has authority, chances are
        you will get site links. I do normally.

        The trick is to get your site to show in SERPs for regular searches, and
        then get site links.

        If that's what you are doing, a keyword search and your sitelinks show,
        that's pretty good. Even better is to have 6 out of the 10 spots, which
        I do also for certain keywords on a couple of sites. Oops. Just checked.
        One site has only 3, but they are the top 3.

          That's great Paul. Yes, keyword searches with sitelinks pointing to the site.

          Yes, I have to be Number 1 to get the sitelinks to appear, but I've been so focused on SEO and what Google wants, that I won't have to worry about anything else.

          You know what's funny?

          It's not only that you're number one, but my second, third and fourth site positions (using my blogs) get so much more conversions in sales rather the homepage where I dominate that keyword for searches. I guess people don't believe the first thing they read... so they go out shopping and find me again!

            You don't have to be #1 for those sitelinks to show.

            I'm looking at some of my short-tail keywords two of them are ranking first page at #3 & #4 in the SERPs.

            #3 & #4 positions include 4 of the 6 Google Sitelinks when I search my domain name.

            The 4 links are blue hyperlinks, below the description.

            I wish I could post them, it would be easier to explain with a screenshot/link.

            It's cool you started this thread, looking at my long-tail keywords I see my competition is following me (piggybacking) in the SERPs.

            He has a dofollow link in his blogroll pointing to my Index page, he used a snippet from my Index page title as his anchor-text for the hyperlink, then he used a sentence from my Index page as that hyperlinks Title. That's awesome!

            I'm getting ready to do the same thing for another one of my Amazon sites, & see If I can copy what he is doing (piggyback my other sites competition)...

            I have always felt that people who are focused will actually read the search
            results. I know I read. I probably click the 3rd or 4th choice more often
            than the 1st and 2nd, especially when I am zeroed in. Buyers are more
            apt to be zeroed in. And that's the kind of traffic you want. Sadly, the
            majority of searchers probably do not read or look.

            That's why the most searched for word on google is facebook. Makes
            you wonder what the mentality of the average internet user is.

              You're right more people are going on Facebook rather than the normal research. But I don't think this is the case for anyone everyday. I think the fact is, people always need to search and find stuff they're looking for, and using search engines won't die out because it's getting people what they want. That is why showing that authority figure will get you sitelinks and building links are one of the major roles in that.

              No spam, no massive blog commenting, no attempts at cheating the system... Keep it clean but get the job done...

    I have 6 Google Sitelinks on a blogspot site (lol).

    What's messed up is that site was a PR3 with 4 Google Sitelinks, PR just updated & the site dropped to a PR2, I havn't touched the site in about 13 months.

    PR went down, & Sitelinks count went up...

      Specify Quality of a domain? I don't get what you mean by 'quality' of domain. Sure, age is a factor, but I know many aged websites that still to this day don't have sitelinks because they're unorganized and not structured to the way Google wants them.

      Being Organized with the way you structure folders/files/sitemap is also what Google mainly depends on..

        Blogspot site structure is sloppy at best.

        However, the site has been up over 4-years.

        Makes me steady $$ that's all I care about...
        That's pretty much an awesome achievement because you've followed all guidelines of Google and got the authority you need to produce Sitelinks

          I can tell you what I know.

          Facts about the blogspot site:

          1) 4 years old

          2) 550+ pages

          3) I havn't created a new post in 13 months

          4) Most backlinks (around 75%) are from 3 niche forums.

          5) I run the default blogspot archive/links widget on every single page. I noticed the archives rank good on their own in the SERPs.

          6) Here is the shocker!

          Every single page/post on my site is around 90% internal links, I don't publish articles, as a matter of fact every post is less than 10 words.

          The site is a file download site (legal), I create all my own files. So I don't need articles to rank any pages. Actually I've found (on my other sites) articles tend to dilute the on-page keywords/text.

          I don't stuff keywords, I keep my site very simple & on subject.

          7) I have maybe 50 categories total for the site.

          8) The site has a total of 10 external links that point to related sites that linked to me. I make it a point to not create external links, however these guys linked to me & their content is related so I returned the favor (link).

          9) The rest is good on-page seo.

            Awesome tips. This is what you've implemented in the past and have always shown results for you?

            It seems about right. Here is my results
            • 1 and 1/2 year old domain name
            • Target Niche Weight Loss
            • 1,700 + Blog Posts, 200 Direct Information Pages.
            • Listed on most relevant directories.
            • Social Bookmarked with over 20 hits for each page.
            • Tons of quality relevant backlinks for each blog/page
            • Organization of Sitemaps, Content, Categories, Posts.
            • Organization of Folders and Files inside my web server
            I'm sure i'll think of more as we go but this is the general
            Idea on what I did that got me the Rankings and Sitelinks
            for Specific Keywords across the weight loss niche.

    Here's an Update:

    I am not using a KEYWORD Domain, as recommended by many gurus who sell their products. "BUY KEYWORD DOMAINS... I'll SHOW YOU THE SECRET... ETC.."

    Nope, not all true. Keyword Domains are only for a short-term strategy.
    I think you have to appear to be authority and relevant to the searchers
    as much as possible, with the articles you submit, the directories, and
    inner pages that have links and SEO done to them... All that are factors.
