Include the www. in your domain name. Also, if you are using wordpress, go in the change the details in your admin section and add the www. You may want to check the free information I offer on traffic and SEO in my link below. Hope this helps.

Do both. This is not a big deal for getting ranking and traffic. The SEs know what is going down with either.

I have to disagree with some of the comments.

It's very important that you pick what you want in your domain name & stick with it.

If your site is www then stay with it, don't keep changing back & forth with non-www.

If your site is www then 301-redirect non-www back to www.

I'll use www.ebay.com as an example.

When you visit ebay with http://ebay.com they will 301-redirect you to http://www.ebay.com for a reason (keep an eye on your browsers search bar when you click the link, & watch it switch the url to www).

Look at the Yahoo Explorer backlinks for Ebay, the numbers for www & non-www don't match, the backlinks are not counted the same for a single domain.

Bottom line, stick with your actual domain url, & redirect the other.

    Backlinks:
    1) www.ebay.com

    2) ebay.com

I dont think so, if your site before has www. and then delete it you will find that webmaster tool report error on it. You will surely find the error if you use webmaster tool to track your work.

As yukon said, you must stick to one format only. For me, i prefer www. cuz it looks more professional and same as google format.

    Hi Captain_Morgan,
login to your wordpress, go to settings and click general.
You will see Wordpress address and Blog address. Just add www to both and save.

    Hope this helps

I think you should use http://your actual domain name.

    Do not change the link.

Only build links using the URL exactly the same it is appears.
