SEO help and advice please

Hi i have a new affiliate poker site up and running. Im looking for advice on how to get it into the top pages of google.

I have targeted my keyword and am making posts etc i have started backlinks and link wheels also.

Any advice on what else i can do that can boost the site.

    We must not only rely on link building technique but more on focus in a great content that will strengthen your quality link building process to gain improvement in rankings.

      I agree with this statement. Having a good quality content will make a good advantage among others,

    thanks for the reply i am working on unique rich content now.

    I was showing up on page 3 for one of the keywords but since then have disappeared?

    Is the site still settling in to the serps?

      Don't worry about it. Your good ranking was just a welcome gift from Google. It usually ranks well new sites for a small period of time. Then, it just send them when he thinks they deserve to be... So rude!!

      Regarding your SEO strategy.

      -Keep adding content and building backlinks consistently:
      -Directories
      -Use articles to build backlinks and reinforce those links by building links to the articles.
      -RSS distribution of all your content
      -Social bookmarking
      -Profile sites

        Hey Mike,
        Apart from building quality content on your site, you must be able to syndicate the content efficiently. I strongly suggest you create lens/hubs on Squidoo, Hubpages, Tumblr etc and each time you make a post, set up the RSS feed to each of those Web 2.0 sites and this way all your web properties get updated every time you make a post on your site/blog.

        Then ping the URLs of those properties.

    You should continue with adding relevant content with targeted keywords on your site besides that you can go for directory submissions, article posting, blog posting and can take help of bookmarking to gain the desired results....

    With such a niche site, I'd suggest to concentrate on its satellites. Blogs, lenses etc. Fill them with quality content and promote them. And they will push your money site. It's sure method.

      I've seen guys within the poker niche post poker video excerts from shows like WSOP/High Stakes Poker onto Youtube and then put in their affiliate offer at the end of the video. May be worth a shot?

    Make sure you build trusted links...link wheels is more of a grey/black hat seo technique so if Google finds out then there could be some penalization of your rankings..

    I have check your site, if i have this site than i wish to have "Online Poker " at first page of Google, not have much competition but some good traffic against this keyword, easily target able, focus more on articles and forums signatures. There are some good free articles sites which are do follow. Also work on social bookmarking and networking sites as they help in getting extra traffic.

    I don't know dir.yahoo's policy on what can be included in their directory. But if gambling qualifies, then the $299 annual purchase for the dir.yahoo link is well worth it.
