Hello everyone. I'm starting to get into adsense a lot as my main income stream. I was just wondering who's using Adsense these days as a main source for income and how well are you doing with it if you don't mind sharing. My long term goal (4-5 months from now) is about $50/day but for right now I am working to a consistent $1/day. I am building sites around smaller niches kind of using the xfactor method but what I will do is if a site starts earning around $3+ per day I will keep it and develop it out more and add probably around 10 pages of content to turn it into a bit on an authority. Then the ones that make $1-$2/day I will add some more content to them and flip them for some quick cash to put towards developing the others out. I plan to start each site out with only 1 page of content and then go from there depending on how well it ranks and does. Does this sound like a reasonable plan as well to get to my $50/day mark eventually. Thanks guys

People used to make tons of money through adsense and some may still do. I would not recommend using adsense as the only source for monetization. Do not be dependent on one stream of income. I have seen to many people lost their businesses in the past when google start making changes. Why not creating your own product? Have you thought of that. DO some article marketing promoting affiliate offers. Create a list and you are a king. That is just my opinion.
P.S I do have few niche websites that I use adsense on but this is not my main income stream.

    Good Luck

Listen to him. I primarily do web design and have a few SEO clients, but sometimes things slow down and traffic doesn't convert to sales. The last two weeks I have had the highest traffic with lowest conversion. Not fun at all, even though I know I'm going to be hit HARD with tons of sales shortly, but it still is frustrating.

Someone brought up the point about just having one source of income. Why haven't I done a little bit of affiliate marketing? Many people are getting $200 a check with clickbank for just a few articles promoting a product. Why shouldn't I do that? Might as well spend a couple hours and do that.

Also, I don't use adsense on any sites, but I'm probably going to do that as well to have some extra change to put back into it.

many of my forum members use adsense as one of their streams and a lot are doing very well with it . It is good to mix in cpa , and amazon offers.

I don't use it as my main income stream, but the income I get from adsense is something I think most IMers would be happy with.

There's nothing wrong with Adsense, but if you're getting decent money for the clicks you provide, just realize that you're really low on the value chain and you'll make more if you can claw your way up.

For instance, I had one site where I was getting like .50/click and was making $35/day. I was pretty happy to be honest. Out of the blue, a niche CPA company contacted me and asked if I wanted to put a lead generation form on my site and get paid $45/lead. I said ok, not really knowing what to expect. And before long, I was making $2K month on CPA leads AND still making the same on adsense.

Yup, Google can be real idiots when it comes to banning your account for no reason. If you do Adsense make sure you have a backup income

If you want to use Adsense as a main source of income, you should build news site and get it listed in Google news.

Adsense is live in my opinion! And as every business it takes practice!

Adsense is 90% of our total income, and the reason we went so hard on Adsense is because we don't have to deal with affiliate companies clawing back, changing offers and code, dropping offers, and of course NOT paying us at all.

We have the odd product of our own (sig), but that just makes some extra on the side.

I still believe that once the hard work is done, Adsense is the best way to go. No emailing, customer service, etc. etc. Set it and forget it.

You know, I wrote a crappy little site up back in 2003 that has never had an update, and it still makes money. You can't beat that. You just can't beat that residual income. Zero hassles.

The more content you have on your domains, the more you make. Those pennies keep adding up.

My 2 cents: (I guess 4 now) ask yourself a question what is your goal? Why do you want to build these adsense website. Is it for quick flip? Is it just to get by till next month. If you want to consistently make money create something with stable foundation. Think about it just as you would build your house.
Whatever you do make sure you don't waste your time but do some action. You will soon see what is working for you. Rinse and repeat.

    Good Luck

Thanks for your valuable input. Right now my goal is $50 per day eventually in a few months hopefully. This will be to help pay for university next year which is about $17000 per year. So I figured it out to be $50/day and I would be pretty well set to pay for the university. I think too at that amount you won't really be setting any flags of with Google. By reading around here it seems that once you hit the $100/day mark that that's when they start doing some manual reviews and potentially banning accounts. If I make $50/day I will be more than happy. But like I said, for now I will just try for $1/day and then keep scaling

Are you suggesting that Adsense is not a stable income?

They've never missed a check in 8 years.

Ask some of the publishers that make over $1000 dollars a day, and have been for over half a decade. (I don't make that much by the way)

Personally I believe Adsense is as stable as anything else out there. I mean what if one day clickbank or amazon change some rule about something and suddenly a lot of people are violating that new rule and getting accounts banned just like Google has done to some with adsense. I think if I don't do anything stupid and stay under the radar I will be fine. I worry about my account being banned but that's not going to stop me from playing the game. Adsense was the first program I was ever able to make money with. I have made 1 sale from clickbank in the past and now a couple sales from Amazon but I have made the most ($11 lol) from Adsense so I figure I will give it a go and have myself a piece of the Adsense pie

TZ what I am suggesting to cweber is to ask himself a question how far does he want to go with this project. Would he rather create 1 website with his own product that will consistently bring him money or should he go and create multiple adsense websites. What he needs to take into consideration is also maintenance. This is not 2001 where you put an website with ads and make a lot of money. Also, I do have few websites with adsense on them and they do bring some money, but in my opinion there are better business models that bring way more in return for an effort you put in. So If I was to starting right now I would think twice.
    good luck

I see. Yeah, that configures for sure. If we can create our own product(s) we can sell those and make an handsome profit like you say, and the only thing that can stop us is if Paypal refuses to process purchases.

I only have one ebook/software product which is supplemental, and I've very careful what Ads are placed on certain domains. Our one product is not even on Clickbank, because I don't want marketers blowing smoke up at their visitors claiming my auto-blog system is going to make them all multi-millioniares by the end of the week. I want total control of the pitch.

For instance, my Zulit.com domain runs Adsense from a completely seperate a lower yielding Adsense account, so that if there was any "funny business" going on there, the account is dispensible.

The lion's share of income comes from domains and Adsense accounts that NO-ONE is going to see. They run on privately registered domains.

So, sure there is always a risk with ANY business model, and even more risk "working for the man".

If treated as a business model, Adsense is very stable, and can provide as much income as time & effort allows.

I've been earning half my income from Adsense for years.

I know dozens of colleagues who do the same. And there are nearly 1000 people who are pursuing it as a serious business model through A100k (sig), sharing their progress on our forum.

Just a note, Xfactor has a new ebook that outlines a different method than the small niche sites though that is still viable.
