Developing SEO in a blog?

Ok so I started a blog without and keywords developed. After I moved from blogger to my own website I developed a couple of keywords that appeared in my blog many times. I also bought 1000 (got 5000) backlinks with those three keywords. But do I need to put these keywords in every post? Because a lot of my posts have nothing to do with the keywords in question.
What I am trying to figure out is how to get traffic with SEO to my blog/site. Do I need to only focus on blog posts with those keywords?
Can anyone point me in the right direction?

    If you write for your readers instead of SEO then it will all fall in place.

    That is if you are writing good/unique content.

    The first thing you need to understand that SEO is not some kind of tricks, which can quickly give you results. However, here is the usual approach:

    1. For each of your posts you have 1 primary keyword and 4 secondary keywords. Primary keyword you should use at least once in each 100-150 words; each secondary keyword at least once,
    2. Your blog should target the precise keyword as well, and it should be related to the posts you are publishing on your blog.

    Of course there is more than just these, but without knowing anything more I really do not have any advice for you.

    the main thing is staying relevant to your niche and don't stray away. The keywords will work itself in. Keep content fresh and viable to your readers. Everything must be original now that Google has been updated.

    Ok, I am trying to figure out ways to bring traffic in, I have been writing articles and backlinking but I have not really received any traffic. I only get the odd person from a social bookmarking site or a signature link but thats it. So I am trying to figure out ways to get traffic coming in.

      How new is your blog? It takes quite awhile to build up traffic. One sure way, though, is to write good articles, post them onto your site as blog posts, and then post versions of that same article (differentiated by "spinning," another conversation entirely), to several article directories with backlinks to your site in the Resource Box. Use whatever keyword you wrote your article around as the anchor text for the link where possible. After awhile, as those articles get picked up and published by other content sites, you ranking for that keyword will rise and your traffic will increase.

      Then, of course, you can pay for traffic, which is faster. Try a CPC campaign on MSAdwords or PlentyofFish. It comes down to money or time, or both.

    oh ok, I was afraid that i wasn't doing enough or something because I get less than 1 visitor per day. Its fairly new, it was about three weeks old when i switched to a website. I have been posting some articles to assiciated content, some are new (usually "top 5" type articles) and some are from my blog.
