Severe cpc drop with high traffic?!

Hi all,
Been lurking for a while, but could really use some input... Over the course of the last 4 days I had a huge spike in traffic (and the number of clicks I've received).
In 3 days, I received more clicks than I would in a normal month. The thing is, I am nowhere near what I would get in a month with $. We're talking pennies on the dollar...
Is it possible that these are just my estimated payments so far and google is delaying full payment due to a drastic change in traffic and clicks?
